Two weeks ago, archaeologists in Egypt found a massive black granite sarcophagus in Alexandria, untouched for 2,000 years - and fleet-footed rumour quickly got to work.
Could it contain the remains of ancient Greek leader Alexander the Great, or (less appealingly) a deadly curse?
According to experts who have now unsealed it, it's a no to both.
Instead, it revealed three skeletons and red-brown sewage water, which gave off an unbearable stench.
Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities had appointed a committee of archaeologists to open the relic, which was unearthed at a construction site.
According to Egyptian news outlet El-Watan, they initially lifted the lid of the tomb by just 5cm (2 inches) before the pungent odour forced them from the inspection scene entirely. They later prised it open with help from Egyptian military engineers.

Hmm..ask the FBI’s Peter Strzok about the odor. He claims to know a great deal about smells and stinks.
Its the scientific approach. Two scientists find s space rock with green organic matter in a crack on the rock. They pick the stuff out and put it in a petrie dish, then place the dish in a small refrigerator and go home for the night. Next morning they come to the lab, the refrigerator and Petrie dish are destroyed in a corner and theres a very large creature with green scales and a spiked tail laying in another corner. First scientist whoa Willard whats that? Willard says damned if I know but here take this stick and poke it

Look at the precautions they take so the crap we send to Mars doesn’t kill some hidden hypothetical microbe.

Sorry. I should have mentioned I learned this important scientific methodology from Mr Gary Larsen. A well known observer/recorder of all events of human, animal, and planetary occurrences in the universe.
Embalming fail
“was there an inscription that whomever opens the tomb unleashes an evil so great it will wash over the earth”
Too late for that. Hillary was already unleashed.
The origin of up shits creek. And I thought grandma made that up. Dang?
Three corpses in one coffin. This is a first, yes?
Want would 2000 years do to the fragility of a corpse? I would think there would be not much left, not even bones.
Rub a dub
I’m not that well schooled to know.
Does that mean hey dick dont just stand there, hand me the crowbar if it does it seems familiar to me too?
Not one Jimmy Hoffa post. I’m getting old.
I thought Jimmy had season tickets at Tigers stadium? But the way things are going I can see a three way in Egypt being more entertaining.
Well there is a Geraldo/Al Capone reference at least.
The hot, dry atmosphere of the desert, with virtually no moisture keeps bacteria from forming that would otherwise decompose human tissue.
