A mysterious ancient black granite sarcophagus has been discovered in Egypt.
The tomb, which dates back to the Ptolemaic period between 305 B.C. and 30 B.C., was uncovered in the city of Alexandria.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, general secretary of Egypts Supreme Council of Antiquities, announced that the 6-foot high sarcophagus, which is 8.7-feet long and 5.4-feet wide, is the largest ever found in Alexandria.
The sarcophagus was found buried 16.4 feet below the surface. A layer of mortar between the lid and the body of the sarcophagus indicates that it has not been opened since it was closed more than 2,000 years ago.
A carved alabaster head, which probably depicts the tombs owner, was also found.
Ancient Egypt continues to reveal its secrets. Archaeologists recently unearthed a 2,200-year-old gold coin depicting the ancient King Ptolemy III, an ancestor of the famed Cleopatra.
Experts in Southern Egypt recently discovered an extremely rare marble head depicting the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Anci-—ent Egypt continues to reveal its secrets ...
The ‘secrets’ of Egypt disappeared at the end of the Old Kingdom in 2180BC, during 150 years of chaos before the start of the Middle Kingdom. The technology for building of pyramids was lost, as well as many other technologies.
You are probably right but since it is not open, maybe the inside that is hollow is only 3’x 1’.
Looks to me like baseball legend Joe DiMaggio.
Black granite is a lot heavier (more dense)and harder than the standard Barrie Grey. This sarcophagus would have been a monster job for whoever fashioned it. The black granite I work with rings with a high clear tone when struck with a rubber mallet.
This is the one that all the “Curse of the Mummy” flicks are based on - DON’T OPEN IT!!!!
The "real" Egyptians were an ancient memory by the time of this burial. This is post-Alexander, when Egypt and the rest of the eastern Mediterranean were ruled by Greek successor kingdoms. At the later end of the dating period, it's at the time of Actium, when Egypt was about to become a Roman province.
Nephilim? They were a bit taller, I believe.
This assumes the sarcophagus was made in the Ptolemaic era. What if the black granite box itself is much older? A test on the mortar used to seal the sarcophagus would be enlightening..
Yes!

It’s from the website of a guy that claims to be a time traveler. He says there are aliens buried on the earth in stone sarcophaguses that are still alive and that Apollo astronauts also found one on the moon.

Yes, I understand that. My entire focus is on the granite box. I contend that it was produced by someone other than the ancient Greeks or Egyptians. Neither of them had the tools or technology to cut and machine granite.
We can hardly fashion such objects with the technology of our day. That granite box was hewn from a single block of stone.
How did they lift it? How did they cut the large flat surfaces, and smooth them to microscopic tolerances? How did they hollow it out and square off all of the inside corners?
I think that object was created by someone far older than the Egyptians or the Greeks. Artifacts such as this, are pointing to the existence of an advanced culture that has been completely lost to history.
I’d be interested to find out more about their method of dating the sarcophagus. No doubt the question of whether it should be opened or not will take years of argument.
Hammerstones?
Mainstream academia has made that claim for generations, but it’s never been proved or demonstrated that its possible to cut and perfectly finish multi ton granite blocks to microscopic flatness, with sharp right angles with those sorts of primitive tools.
Some years back, a Japanese team set out to prove that the ancient Egyptians could have quarried, cut, dressed, moved, and erected the stone blocks of the pyramids, using only the tools and methods they possessed in dynastic times.
Not only was the team incapable of fashioning multi ton blocks with those tools and methods, they wound up resorting to using modern power tools to fashion blocks of only a few hundred pounds.
After transporting their blocks to the building site with modern methods and equipment, they found they could not stack them into a tiny pyramid less than twenty feet in height.
Yet we’re made to believe the dynastic Egyptians built the Great Pyramid with 6.3 million stone blocks, averaging 2.5 tons apiece, using nothing but copper chisels, stone hammers, and brute force, in just twenty years.
Not only that, they were so precise in their planning and execution, the Great Pyramid is only out of perfect square by one quarter inch over thirteen acres.
That’s a level of perfection that can’t even be equaled today.
Thanks! Will ping later.
I’m jealous that you beat me to that.
