Jeanine Pepler, the publicist who represented novelists Jay McInerney and Candace Bushnell, hanged herself Sunday night in her home in Sag Harbor, LI, taking her life the same way Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain did earlier this month. Sources say she was 50.

The automatic “suicide” verdict by police and investigators must be examined. Never assume that no one else was involved in the death. I am aware of one case that involved Benadryl. There are drugs that are undetectable within hours of ingestion that, when taken with Benadryl, can cause a person to be barely conscious, yet they can move on their own. Just saying...
Anthony Bourdain didn’t leave a suicide note... and he was in the bathroom using a belt from a bathrobe. I’m guessing from his lifestyle (and love of life and tacky ways) - that this was an auto-erotic act that went bad. Makes more sense than many other guesses...

According to his wife, yes he did. But that still doesn't say exactly why he killed himself with no note. The fact that these high profile deaths have been hanging from door knobs and NOT hanging from the ceiling shows that they really didn't intend to kill themselves. Our survival instinct is strong. If you're trying to kill yourself by sitting on the floor it's going to be pretty difficult UNLESS you're distracted by the need to orgasm.
My wife’s mother killed herself when my wife was a kid.
It still causes pain and grief.
Nowadays there are meds (anti-depressant) I understand that have side effects such as homicidal or suicidal thoughts.
My experience with being drunk or intoxicated is that the mind can run wild as well.
Sober now but my life experiences do include such notions in the past.
I can’t jump to conclusions but my suspicions involve drugs, legal or illegal, having a role to play in these tragedies.
I'm sure at this point that we can all agree that we need common sense rope legislation and we need it now.
