Cougars can be rough, but if a gentleman plays nice she’ll usually not cause any damage.

A cougar attacking a 31-year-old man? Who is she?

You stand up to the big cat, the cat might win. You run from the cat, and the cat will win.

Years ago,in Washington State,I was leaving my brothers cabin at 4am in the morning.

We heard a growl that stood the hair up on both of us,we went back into the garage and closed the door.

The attack happened in a very remote area northeast of Snoqualmie.

Cougar country.

One does not run from a predator.

It says to the predator “You are the prey and are afraid, weak.”

If you must, walk slowly away, with your eyes on the animals but do not stare down the critter. This may make the animal interpret this as a challenge.
Return to a place of safety and never leave New York again.

Wild America is no place for weak, stupid urban dwellers.

Oh yeah dude, you’ll outrun a cougar.

From what I hear, if you encounter a cougar in the wild, you are supposed to freeze, then slowly walk backwards away from the cougar so it will not feel threatened. This is what a ranger told me when I did a hiking trip when I was in my teens.

Another reason to pack a .44mag with semi-wadcutters.

I spend a lot of time in the mountains. Have seen many mountain lions over the years, but I’m in CA and we can’t shoot them, though I would in self defense.

The tree huggers banned hunting with dogs. Now the cats are getting bolder and numerous.

Did not want to pay attention to a cougar that smoked?

That will tee them off.

Traipsing through a cougar’s kitchen and they wonder why they end up at dinner.
