‘Selma Diamond’
She was terrific! I wouldn’t want to meet her character in a dark alley, LOL!

I don’t recall Ellen Foley in “Working Girl”, but she was in “Fatal Attraction” (the wife of the friend of the character Michael Douglas played) and also “Cocktail” (the something of a disappointment from Tom Cruise back in the late 1980s).

Correct. I had my 1988 NY based films mixed up.

Don't forget Yakov Smirnoff.
First time I ever saw him was on night court.

She also sang the recorded version of “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” with Meatloaf. Karla DiVito was in the video, but she lip synced to Ellen Foley’s voice.

Some of the fun of watching that show today is seeing all the actors that later "made it".
It also was my first introduction to grown up American Comedy. Drama is a major export but comedy shows are culture and language specific.

How sad! I used to love watching Night Court reruns when I was a kid. He was a very entertaining guy.

I never thought of it that way!
I never saw any of the shows of that era in real time. I only know them through re-runs. I was in the Army - I was a LITTLE busy. ;)
