A few weeks ago we asked our readers to vote for their least favorite songs from the 1990s, so it was the obvious next move to dial it back 10 years and see what you guys hated in the 1980s. The results are sure to infuriate a lot of people. For the record, I personally disagree with most of these selections. In fact, I love a lot of these songs...
10. Rick Astley - 'Never Gonna Give You Up'...
9. Taco - 'Puttin' On The Ritz'...
8. Toni Basil - 'Mickey'...
7. Bobby McFerrin - 'Don't Worry Be Happy'...
6. Falco - 'Rock Me Amadeus'...
5. Men Without Hats - 'The Safety Dance'...
4. Wham! - 'Wake Me Up (Before You Go Go)'....
3. Chris de Burgh - 'Lady In Red'....
2. Europe - 'The Final Countdown'...
1. Starship - 'We Built This City'...

Do They Know Its Christmas?
;;;
Probably Worst of All Time.
Is that 2 guys?
Great candidate for the list.
# 1. To me is Don’t Worry Be Happy.
Loved the Rockwell song. It just got overplayed. Oh and one name that made that song a hit. Michael Jackson.
It’s a happy song.
1. Anything by Bonnie Tyler.
Funny you should say that about John Mellencamp in the early 90s. “Key West Intermezzo” is probably the one song of his that I really like to the point where I never get tired of it. If you check out the video you can see a young Matthew McConaghey before anyone heard of him.
70s was all about Floyd Man, Floyd!
What does Hands Across America have to do with We are the World?
BTW I and my friend went into Baltimore for that. My aunt lived just one block from Charles St where it would run through and we parked by her place and stayed there in the interim.
Never heard of them.
Must be more fringe stuff.
Puttin' on the Ritz--Leo Reisman & His Orchestra (1930)
All of these sounded like symphonies compared to the ghetto cRap that passes for music these days.
Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day, you cut a big fart
And of course...there’s this....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmvuRJzads4
I nominate Karma Chameleon by Boy George, both the song and the video.
Piss off all you disco haters. This curmudgeon doesn’t know or give a rip about decades. It’s all a blur at this stage of the game anyhow. Bee Gees were/are terrific. Van McCoy and “Do the Hustle”, KC and the Sunshine band and “Give it up”, Maxine Nightengale “Right Back Where We Started From” still rule.
Yet, several of these songs were #1 hits and all at least made the top 10
