Ticket prices at Walt Disney World will increase, effective Sunday. The hike comes as Disney tries to even out attendance throughout the year so guests arent stuck waiting in line and have a better time. Walt Disney World posted record-breaking attendance in the quarter that ended in December, Disney executives said during an earnings call Tuesday with investors. The cost increase will vary from park to park as well as which day since Disney offers a three-tiered system for peak, regular and value tickets. Annual passes, including those for Florida residents, are also on the rise.
At the gate, a one-day regular Magic Kingdom ticket will cost $119, a $4 increase. A value ticket will cost $109, a $2 increase, while a peak ticket will now cost $129, a $5 increase.

Disney was ~$76 for an adult ticket in 2008. They are definitely going up faster than inflation, but not 3x in 10 years.
We live in Anaheim and takes us less than 20 minutes from house to the gate we stopped buying the annual pass when it went over 500 a year it was fun but cant or choose not to afford it anymore
“Coming Out” discounts apply.
Only a NFL player can afford to say, “I’m going to Disney!”
It's amazing how much a corporation can deteriorate and still have its brand remain untarnished.
The MSM seems to be doing a real good job keeping the sheeple misinformed and uninformed.
Took the family to WDW 20 years ago. 3 rooms at Port Orleans for a week, annual passes all the way around. Set me back about $5,000. Wife and I went last year for 4 days, we spent that much alone just for 4 days at a Moderate Resort. Downtown Disney used to be a fun place to hang out after the park closed. Its all gone. All gone.
Now its so expensive that the average family will go into debt for years, to take the family for a week. Rooms are triple what they were, $20 for a cheeseburger, fries and soda. And the burger is cold and the fries are stale.
Disney is beautiful and they have a reputation that is family friendly. It now they cater to those who earn far more than the average family can afford.
If you have a big group you need a 2nd mortgage to go to Disney World.
Seniors get a $2 discount and $9 off on the small sized cotton candy.
My nieces still buy annual passes. I think they’d live in the park if they could figure out how to do it. One of them used to work at Circle D with the horses before she got a real job.
When Arte Moreno threatened to move the Angels out of Anaheim, Disney was right behind him with a check in hand to buy Angel Stadium. They want the land for a third park. It would connect to the other two with monorails or something similar. The two current parks are at full capacity nearly all the time, which is one reason they can keep increasing ticket prices.
And while we're at it, please figure out how to keep out the riff-raff.
Precisely, and this is basic capitalism. As long as the parks are at near 100% capacity; the gate prices are still below what the market will bear. They could double or triple prices, and still fill the parks. Unfortunately this is the reality of the situation.
Since Disney struck out on purchasing Angel Stadium they ought to buy up some of the decaying neighborhoods that are closer to their park. Maybe they already are.
So. Not. Worth. It.
It is a bank account emptier to go now. We picked the perfect day to go a couple weeks ago with the drizzly morning and cool temps, hardly any lines. But hard to justify spending that kind of money in one day.
I live an hour away. Ticket in 1986 was $26. Then they also charge you to park. I refuse to go, much to the chagrin of the family. Too much money. Got better things to spend money on. The other parks go up when Disney does also.
I know people who go there, say high prices help keep out riff Raff and trouble makers.
They say that cheaper parks such as Six Flags parks attract a rough crowd.
They will price themselves right out of existence.
Who in their right mind is still supporting this industry.
Disney is no longer dependent upon locals to come to the park in the off season so pricing is through the roof. There isn’t much of an off season and they have done away with some of the passes that were aimed at SoCal.
