8 Terrible Actors Who Got Lucky Breaks
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
Keanu was a good in his early days, and was horribly miscast as J. Barker in Dracula. Frankly that should have been a career killer, but I think in later years (Devil’s Advocate, Matrix, John Wick) he has come into his own.
Auto correct. Keanu was a GOOF in his early years.
You have to give credit when it's due.
I disagree. Sean Penn is complete a$$hole. However, he is a very good actor.
So, you admit that General/Chat is just useless BS? We should eliminate it then.
Kind of a strange group. In most all of these cases, they each have a “genre” in which they are actually decent. Their problems are when they “branch out” beyond their comfort zone.
For example, cast Schwarzenegger as a muscle-bound, low-brow action hero who throws off some punny lines, and he’s not bad. Anything else, including governing California, and the man is completely lost.
Lindsey Lohan, , , Colin Farrell
I would put:
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Stephen Seagal
Tom Cruise
Sylvester Stallone
John Travolta
Ahead of most on this list, with Travolta at #1 and Stallone at #2.
He was a killer bodybuilder in a Streets Of San Francisco episode and he was kind of comical while trying to be serious.
Can we sanction the complainers instead?
I agree. I am a big boy, I don’t need anyone censoring what other post. If it is a subject I am not interested in I just skip it.
Oh, one exception.. those that go on television threads and proudly proclaim they have not watched any television since they were born...them I can do with out /s
Ben Affleck. Worst ever A lister. One facial expression and a mouth that he rarely closes.
I think about actors like Jimmy Stewart. You could tell what he was thinking without him saying a word. His face spoke. Ben Aflecks face displays nothing.
His brother, Casey, is a much better actor, though apparently not a much better person................
Robert De Niro has played the exact same character for 40 years.
Didn’t expect to see Marion Morrison here.
Except for his poor Fess Parker imitation at the Alamo, I thought he was not only one of the better Americans from Hollywood, but also at least an okay actor.
Jeremy Piven. Didn’t make it far into the “Mr. Selfridge” series since he ruined it. The British actors were good.
John Wayne
I disagree with Ahnold and Vin. These are bad actors who knew their limitations and chose roles which did not force them to be good actors. The fact that they did not take themselves too seriously puts them in a different category than your hall of shame.
