Scientists in the Netherlands have found a new excuse as to why sea levels are stubbornly refusing to rise in line with Al Gore’s doomsday predictions: “ocean bottom deformation.”
Apparently, they claim in a study by Thomas Frederikse et al, the weight of the extra water caused by all those melting glaciers and icecaps is so great that it is causing the sea bed to sink.
Their paper – titled ‘Ocean Bottom Deformation Due To Present-Day Mass Redistribution and Its Impact on Sea Level Observations’ – is published in Geophysical Research Letters.Here is the abstract:

Satellite orbits decay. That puts them closer to the surface. If they aren't accounting for the decay, the "rise" may be nothing more than an lower orbit.

They need more money for research.
One of many problems with that theory - the ocean would first have to rise to put extra weight on the bottom. As I u understand it, ocean levels haven’t changed much, maybe a fraction of an inch? That small amount of extra weight is insignificant compared to the weight of a column of water thousands of feet high. How stupid do these guys think we are?

My toilet experienced some bottom deformation this morning, but the water level rose so don’t even come at me with Global Warming is a myth garbage.

Yep. Funny how they’ve been changing the whole “man is going to destroy the planet” for 50 years now.
Perhaps these brilliant scientists can explain why, when glaciers melt, the water becomes much heavier than the ice, which was floating on top of the water and pushing it down.

This in turn could centrifugally "spin off" much of the Earth's water mass into space (or at least onto shore), causing untold but expensive calamity.

A while back scientists were talking about how the Great Lakes were shrinking. It turned out they underestimated the effect of dredging. So man did cause it but not in the way they wanted.
