Am I so old that they don’t have history for my birth year? No toys back then?

Just came across a reference to a snowplow/salter toy in a usenet group. "Only two left..."

31. 1993: Talkboy Fun Fact: The Talkboy was originally conceived as a non-working prop for the 1992 movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. It was released the same day as the movie.

Never heard of it. Did catch the movie the other week, though. Trump had a cameo.

1953 - A newspaper cut and shaped like a diamond glued to balsa strips - a spool of grandma’s string.

The bestest kite.

I feel so spoiled because I had almost every toy listed through my youth, some of them after adulthood and before kids, and we bought our kids almost all the rest at some time.

And we were and are not rich. Apparently very indulgent though.

:)

1973, Cabbage Patch Kids. My wife worked at a Toys R Us then, They had Clarkstown, NY’s finest patrolling the parking lot to break up the fights. It really got crazy after the Holiday when they released the Black Cabbage Patch Dolls, and it was White people fighting over them. Our Black friends thought it was hilarious.
