NERDS!!!!! A lot of fanboys seem to have gone crazy with let us say breaks from the past. The biggest complaints I have read are about a jaded Luke Skywalker. These fanboys want Luke to be the same farm boy that left Tatooine? Life experiences don't change a person?

LOL. Proof that the people living in this country have too much free time on their hands. Somebody needs to tell these idiots that it’s only a movie.

Why, that this time in history, should we be surprised by this? All the main-line Denominations and Cults are asking God to change the Bible! This is just the Pagan side of the Great Deception. ;-)

C’mon, who didn’t know Disney would poop all over Star Wars once they got their hands on it. Sorry fanboys, Disney does what Disney does.

If I don’t like a movie, I just don’t go see it. If I already saw it, I tell my friends its a bad movie.

Is this some sort of new “precious snowflake” thing?

It’s only a movie! Liberals have a hard time distinguishing fantasy from reality.

I read the reviews by people on IMDB, some of the worst reviews I ever read in my life for a movie, some people saying it was so bad that it made them cry LOL!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2527336/reviews?ref_=tt_urv

I don’t understand these movie companies, well Disney I can understand being that it’s run by morons, but how hard is it to get a good script? They’re pouring millions into the picture, if not hundreds of millions, yet they can’t afford to buy a yellow pad and write out a good script? It’s freakin Star Wars! You can do anything in it!

I recall that Highlander 2 was so staggeringly bad that Highlander 3 literally started with the main character, seated & breaking the 4th wall by speaking directly to the audience, explaining that the second movie didn’t happen and that the third was resuming the first about 10 minutes before that storyline ended.

The article makes it sound like The Godfather 3 of the Star Wars saga. Too funny. That’s what happens when PC disney takes over the franchise. I expect wise, black lesbians from the planet lesbo to restore order to the universe in the next installment.

DISNEY should have been jettisoned - “a long time ago, to a galaxy far far away ...”

What do you expect from a company run by reprobates, for reprobates?

Disney is become pure evil trash. Disney movies promote sodomy, pederasty, pedophilia and bestiality. Their theme parks are staffed with sodomites and child molesters.

Walt must be turning in his grave, from what these filthy sons-of-bitches have done to his legacy.

The problem isn’t that Luke became Jaded... the larger problem is the fundamental context shift of this film... its taken the classic and never ending battle of good vs evil and decide to move toward shades of gray, relativism viewpoint.

That’s the real problem with this film in the larger context, there is a lot of things wrong execution wise, that I can nitpick at. The most glaring being an entire subplot/scene that just doesn’t work, poorly written and horribly executed... and an character that is so poorly written, and even more poorly acted... that it makes the acting of the guy who played adult Anakin in the prequels look good.

I can offer up all sorts of critiques of various execution points in the film, but all of those I can honestly overlook... because they are largely EXECUTION problems, not conception problems.

The real problem with this film, is the CONCEPTION problem... that being Star Wars is no longer the eternal battle of Good vs Evil... but is now some ephemeral fog of shades of grey and nuances.... That’s what is really wrong with this film IMHO. Its destroying the very fabric of the underlying story... Can’t have absolute good and absolute evil anymore, that’s not politically allowed... must be this jumbled mess of gray that has to be slogged through.

Well, as a mediocre watcher of Star Wars (I have all the first six episodes but never watch them), I’ll say this: If it was a decision between Starwars and, say, Deep Space9, I’d choose the latter. Better plots, better actors (Avery Brooks and Armin Shimmerman, for example), and prettier sets. Sorry SW fans. I just think a Feringi’s lobes are interesting...

Stars Wars jumped the shark when ewoks hit the big screen. Seinfeld is the TV series about nothing, Star Wars is now the movie series about nothing.

With advances in digital technologies, Hollywood should be a little worried about the nerds. Notwithstanding the sanctity of property rights, these nerds CAN recut a film to their liking, upload it to a site, and THAT version may take hold and trump the "original" version.

A great example of this is Metallica's "...And Justice For All." Basically, the bass is inaudible, a sort of hazing of then-new bassist Jason Newsted. However, people have taken the album and using new software "recovered" the bass and remixed the album with an audible bass. It's actually better than the original, IMHO.

Another great example is bootlegs of concerts. Back in the day, except for the Dead, it was illegal to make a tape of a concert. Nowadays, everyone with a cell phone can make their own recoding of a concert. I don't think anyone sells bootlegs anymore nor does it seem to be policed.

Now, again, property rights must be defended. I'm not condoning concert taping or violation of the rule of law. Artists deserve to be paid for their product just like the butcher, baker, and candlestick maker.

But what I AM saying is that Hollywood should take note that if they take their audience for granted, they may find themselves getting thrashed like never before.
