The following recounts an incident in 2004 that advocates of research into U.F.O.s have said is the kind of event worthy of more investigation, and that was studied by a Pentagon program that investigated U.F.O.s. Experts caution that earthly explanations often exist for such incidents, and that not knowing the explanation does not mean that the event has interstellar origins.
Cmdr. David Fravor and Lt. Cmdr. Jim Slaight were on a routine training mission 100 miles out into the Pacific when the radio in each of their F/A-18F Super Hornets crackled: An operations officer aboard the U.S.S. Princeton, a Navy cruiser, wanted to know if they were carrying weapons.

Some are. Some aren’t.
Here’s part of a long and interesting tribute to him:

I’ve never seen anything in the sky that wasn’t explainable in terrestrial terms.
They spicka de englis and intercept data links?
Did he get an irresistible urge to make model mountains afterwards?
J/K............
Hynek deeply regretted the whole ‘swamp gas’ business.
If you look at the sky in Az late at night or very early in the morning you will see all kinds of interesting stuff from meteors to jet airliners. Even saw the contrail from a rocket launch in New Mexico one morning on the way to work. Luke AFB is in my area and we get to see the standard fighters take off and return from exercises. When I first got here I used to see F-15s and F-16s outward bound and returning from training. Now it is F16s and F-35s. I wish you could have seen the last UFO I saw.
Many of us have seen UFOs and dont talk about them for fear of ridicule and derision. Not to mention retaliation. I just tell the truth and let the chips fall where they may. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I wish I could have seen it, too.
You’ve seen a lot of neat things. I lived in northern NM and I saw some weird lights but nothing I’d consider to be a UFO.
I’d like to see a UFO.
What’s with Arizona and New Mexico getting all the UFO traffic? Retired space aliens?
A friend of mine was a supervisor at the Longmont Regional Air Traffic Control Center before he retired, and he said that they saw UFOs all the time, but that there were certain ones that created massive consternation amongst the controllers and staff, and that they were always a big headache for him because they always involved large numbers of lengthy, high level meetings about how to deal with them, which I understood to pretty much mean keeping them quiet.
I saw swamp gas reflecting headlights and tail lights into the sky. From a distance of a mile, it appeared to be “mysterious” lights in the sky, darting hither and yon.
“When I worked for NASA, I saw interesting things on the Space Shuttle downlink. Ill just leave it at that.”
I’ll never forget when my Dad, who worked for NACA/NASA, gave me a piecrcing stare, said nothing, and got up and left the room when I asked him about UFOs.
Twenty years ago y Wife’s Sister was driving with her young Daughter and they saw a “Flying Saucer”. She said there were a row of windows or lights along the edge.
My S-I-L said it hovered about 500 feet off the ground for about 30 seconds, made no noise and it just took off vertically and it was gone.
This wasn’t in the middle of nowhere, it was near Thousand Oaks, CA.
Weird stuff...
It's chock full of eyewitness accounts and reports from military personnel.
I have seen flying mushrooms, especially those with sphaerocysts—they crack up very nicely.
“All but two were in my youth in Va”
when I attended Va Tech in Blacksburg in the early 70’s, one of my favorite recreations was to explore the countryside via automobile. One night, myself and a few friends were out driving around in the middle of nowhere late at night and a blinding light shown down on us. The next thing i remember was waking up in my dorm room. We weren’t drunk or stoned either. I’m not making this up, either. It really happened.
Possibably or maybe snow-bird aliens.
got me Bob Welch all hypnotized-like
