I tend to agree that what you really had in the Soviet Union was State Capitalism. There’s always going to be Capital, it’s a question of who controls it. What were the “Five-Year Plans”? They basically were a blueprint as to how Capital was to be allocated by the State.
If anything, the closest thing to real “Communism” in terms of the workers controlling the means of production, is basically to give them shares of stock in the company.
The reason there are no “true” communisms is because it’s not possible in the real world. For that, everyone must just spontaneously agree to share all their property. I’d have to go outside, throw all my money out my wallet, and hope that everyone else does the same. Then I can just go outside, pick up whatever money I need off the ground, and buy whatever food or rent money I need at the time. No, the only way for communism to see the light of day is for government to enforce it, in which case it is no longer “true” communism. It’s a tyranny.
I have always thought that capitalism exists to some extent in any system that produces any goods that are then used/distributed/sold for their value. Even in the purest communism the workers are getting something for what they produce.
Capitalism is not a political ideology or a form of government no matter how much leftists try to frame it as such.
“Real Communism” is the utopia they claim they want. REAL Communism is the mass murder, slavery, poverty, and war they actually perpetrate.
I.e., always the broken eggs, never the omelet.
This “Ray” is the most repulsive creature Stefan has ever featured.
Of course, because “capitalism” is just another name for reality, and every alternative “system” is a fantasy.
That’s the disconnect.
On the one hand, Communists talk about the workers owning the means of Production, which implies decentralization, but then if you abolish private property, there’s no other way than to have centralized planning.
Epic scene
Communism was basically promising to take from the haves and giving it to the have nots.
Oldest con game in the world.
As relevant today as it was then.
I get the feeling “Ray” would have made for a very good Chekist.
Of course, with “real Communism,” you don’t need money. You just go to the store and pick up what you need. People farm, and work in factories, and send stuff to the stores because they believe in Communism.
“Prices,” in the minds of bishops, college kids, etc., are just a way for “the rich” to take money from “the poor.” They really believe that society would be much more “just” if “prices” were abolished. The fact that prices communicate vital information in a billion directions at once has never crossed their minds.
He clearly thinks other humans are scum (or perhaps just animations), and that any time they consume by speaking is utterly wasted time.
In a “real” communism, you don’t need money. The government gives you what you need. But it’s only enough to keep you alive and working for the state. If you decide to strike instead of work, they execute you. That’s exactly the way it was in the Soviet Union.
What is the difference between NAZI SOCIALISM and COMMUNIST SOCIALISM?
No one says REAL NAZISM has never been tried.
Nazis have snappier uniforms.
If you’d look into Qadaffy’s regime in Libya that was actually really close to a ‘real thing’. With all the oil wealth and no taste for golden Ferraris and/or ‘prestige’ global jihad programs he had tons of money to build Communism without much redistribution and oppression.
I find Stefan very intelligent and even funny, but his wiki page describes him as “Alt Right”, which is in turn wiki described as racist, sexist and homophobic, which is more a statement about Wikipedia than Stefan. Clearly the true Marxists today call themselves something else, like progressives, social justice warriors, and Anti-Fa...
I use to feel guilty I don’t contribute to Wikipedia financially,
Now I wish they go out of business.
