President Donald Trump frequently casts his first year in office as a string of successes and campaign promises fulfilled. But less than a quarter of Americans think Trump has made good on the pledges he made to voters while running for president, according to a new poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.
Among Republicans, just half say Trump has kept his promises, which included vows to overhaul his predecessor’s health care law, withdraw the United States from a nuclear accord with Iran and invest millions in new projects to fix the nation’s aging infrastructure. None of those steps have been taken.
“Everything has stalled out,” said Mark Krowski, 37, an independent from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, who leans Republican but didn’t vote for Trump last year.
As 2017 comes to a close, the majority of Americans painted a broadly pessimistic view of Trump’s presidency, the nation’s politics and the overall direction of the country. Just three in 10 Americans said the United States is heading in the right direction, and 52 percent said the country is worse off since Trump became president - worrisome signs both for the White House and Republicans heading into a midterm election year where control of Congress will be at stake. …

If Trump hasn’t fulfilled his campaign promises then his approval rating should be 100%. His haters should be thrilled and his supporters still support him.

This rates right up there with some of the stupid statements by a liberal press, including the AP. If you ask Trump what he accomplished, he’d have to tell you. But the AP wouldn’t print it. When you heard about his successes on issues he fixed, the AP wouldn’t print it. And when glaring things came out that he did something great, even though it slipped by, the AP didn’t print it.
So how are people that have any intelligence at all going to buy a poll coming from your company, using your people, polling your selected group, and possibly wording it in a certain way which liberal polls are notorious for to weed out people who might know, that Trump isn’t doing the job? Only the sheep. Especially when the poll accomplishes two things: keeps your lib agenda alive, and covers your a$$ for not doing your job of reporting the whole news. In other words, you’re a bunch of liars.

The left sees all this "progress" as just a "natural evolution of tolerance", yada yada,...far from it, there are puppet-masters behind the controls deliberately weakening Americans resolve through these useful idiots called "liberals"...and while it has been a slow burn to totalitarianism up until now, with technology, I believe the powers-that-be are speeding up the process, mostly because some of their works are being exposed.
A free and open internet are these cretins only threat...as such, look for all of these social media platforms to begin to consolidate in order to control the content(indoctrination).
This is where the battle-lines must be drawn.
Live free or die(trying)...we don't owe that to the 'yutes of today/tomorrow, we owe that to those who have already laid down their life for the cause of freedom.

I know three people who voted for Trump who now wish they would have voted for Hillary and that she would have won. They say Trump has non clue on what he is doing.

We can blow off all the approval polls as fake, but they all show Trump tanking with independents and Republicans.
Fact is, Fake News works. Everywhere you go, its CNN on the TV screens. People hear it and they believe it.
I felt from the moment defeated Hillary it was just breif reprieve for the nation. The Democrat candidate who defeats Trump in 2020 (I believe it will be Kamala Harris) will make us wish Hillary had won.

I agree with this premise. I know many Trump supporters, including myself, who have lost enthusiasm because we realize how deep the tentacles of the deep state reach and how the GOP is corrupted.

I’ve been trying to claim, SCREW THE POLLS, but I do admit I now feel terribly beleaguered.
The damnable Witch Hunt, constant obstruction and deep state corruption coupled with the horrific media bias has taken a significant toll.
What a tragedy that our country has sabotaged the efforts of the ONLY man willing and capable of saving us.
Again, I was denying the validity of all the polls but recent results from gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, along with what just happened in deep red Alabama, have proven to be a brutal wake-up call.
I keep praying for President Trump to succeed for all our sakes, but fear he lost all critical leverage when he picked the worst Attorney General in history who virtually stabbed him in the back. The consequences have reverberated and damaged President Trump in the eyes of the general public.
I pray with all my heart that this trend reverses and we can still celebrate another seven years of MAGA!!!
It's a given that most of the crap on the MSM is a lie. We all know that. Some FReepers think we have to be constantly reminded of that, but we don't. It is obvious to anyone with half a brain.
If we have to post an issue regarding a lie, we should find and post reasonably reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. If you’re told a lie, don’t repeat it. Lies are strengthened, not defeated, by repeating the lie. Lies are defeated by repeating the truth. Neutralize the lie by speaking the truth.
What is our goal? Whatever our goal is, that is where our focus should be. You never reach a goal if your eyes are constantly somewhere else. We should have our eyes on the prize - in this case, politically, what it takes to recover our Free Constitutional Republic. That should be our goal upon which we need to major and focus.
So to do that, we should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down the hundreds of posts streaming across FR. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose on FR IMO. Some have said that when they first visited FR they thought it was another leftist site with all the steaming Lying Leftist headlines.
This is not advocating externally-forced "censorship". It is disciplining ourselves to focus on the right thing. Mindless repetition of Leftist lies won't get us there. Faith and focus on what it will take to recover our Free Constitutional Republic will get us there.
