Dozens of chickens were injured or killed in an SC crash. PETA wants pay tribute to them

A billboard is set to go up to memorialize dozens of chickens injured or killed during a crash on Interstate 95 earlier this month.

People for Ethical Treatment of Animals announced through a news release that the billboard aims to encourage drivers to “think about the ill-fated animals on transport trucks.

The crash took place on Sept. 15 on northbound I-95 at mile marker 91 near Santee, according to Lance Corporal Judd Jones, of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Only one vehicle was involved and no humans were injured in the crash.

“This devastating crash left countless birds mangled and suffering,” said Tracy Reiman, the organization’s executive vice president. “PETA’s billboard will let travelers know that the best way to prevent such tragedies is to keep smart, sensitive chickens off the road in the first place by going vegan.”

The billboard will feature an image of a chicken with the words, “I’m me, not meat. See the individual. Go vegan,” according to the release.

I wonder how many PETA members find the abortion of pre-born children upsetting at all?

It is tragic that these noble birds were not able to fulfill their destiny.

This is indeed a tragedy. The loss of those poor chickens will be felt at far too many dinner tables.

Sad.

(sniff)

What about all of the chickens that, every day, make their exits the usual way, as these chickens would have done if not for the accident?

PETA, don’t you see how silly, over dramatic and sanctimonious you look?
I’m surprised they don’t stage a performance art project with naked people being ‘led to the slaughterhouse’. Naked, except for their feathered Rooster and Hen Masks.

I would suggest something to drink to go with the chicken - despite the link title it was 40,000 PINTS - http://www.wral.com/tractor-trailer-carrying-40-000-pounds-of-vodka-overturns-on-us-70/16963307/

I’m sorry the injured ones had to suffer but they were headed to the slaughter house.

Can’t stand that commercial about a chicken farm that says they have happy chickens. Those poor chickens are sickly looking and have been plucking their feathers out which is a sign of stress.

He was usually a good chicken, but when Carl the chicken got behind the wheel of his Mustang, he became a maniac.

Passing on the right.....playing Disco Duck too loud on his stereo.....giving the bird to the employees of Popeyes Chicken.

Everyone could see that he was headed to a tragedy.

Then it happened.

After a class discussion of Rod McKuens poetry, he tore out of the parking lot at Harvard and was soon flying down the interstate.

Well, not really flying because chickens don’t fly, but we’re already in trouble in this story because chickens, while them may be smart and sensitive, can’t reach the pedals on a car.

They’re kind of smart, sensitive and short.

Believe me, if they ever come up with a six foot tall chicken, you wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley. Or a well-lit interstate for that matter.

Those chickens are mean.

Have you ever looked at chicken feet?

They can really scratch you. Good thing they’re tasty or we’d be shooting them for how nasty they are.

Where was I?

Oh, yeah, Carl the smart and sensitive chicken cruising down the interstate in his Mustang with his ten trillion megawatt subwoofer pumping out the bass from Eat That Rat by the RAMONES.

Well, he lost it on the curve and Jan and Dean or Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass, I can never remember which, then wrote a song about it called Dead Chickens Curve and it sold like a bazillion copies and poor Carl the smart and sensitive chicken was cooked up and served for lunch at Harvard thereby living the Harvard motto of “Chicken et Veritas” or something.

We have had a lot of chickens over the years and we have them for my egg business and for meat. A few of them have been much more than just a barnyard animal, though. Those particular hens and one rooster have become pets and even though the girls don’t produce anymore we’re letting them live out their lives because they’re fun, intelligent, and affectionate individuals.

The people from PETA have an agenda and they don’t really care about animals. The animals are just a way for them to try to impose their damnable socialist state on us.

That said, don’t dismiss the chicken until you’ve had one jump up in your lap, preen your hair, and then fall asleep with you. They can be really sweet pets.

And like leftists, the majority of chickens will take you for granted, sh*t all over you, demand that you take care of them, and they’re rude to everyone.

Feel free to cut their heads off and fry them! :-)

At our house my stomach is known as the “chicken cemetery” where many a noble fowl has met a fitting end with full honors.
