We have had a lot of chickens over the years and we have them for my egg business and for meat. A few of them have been much more than just a barnyard animal, though. Those particular hens and one rooster have become pets and even though the girls don’t produce anymore we’re letting them live out their lives because they’re fun, intelligent, and affectionate individuals.
The people from PETA have an agenda and they don’t really care about animals. The animals are just a way for them to try to impose their damnable socialist state on us.
That said, don’t dismiss the chicken until you’ve had one jump up in your lap, preen your hair, and then fall asleep with you. They can be really sweet pets.
And like leftists, the majority of chickens will take you for granted, sh*t all over you, demand that you take care of them, and they’re rude to everyone.
Feel free to cut their heads off and fry them! :-)
You win post of the day!
“Fall asleep with you”
I’m sorry, but I draw the line on sleeping with chickens.
Even in college, I never got that drunk.
“Cut their heads off and fry them”?
The leftists?
OK.
What kind of wine do you serve with leftist?
Listerine?
I've known a few people who had chickens that really were excellent - if messy - pets by nearly any of the usual standards.

I know exactly what you mean, so glad you have chicken pets. I helped whitewash a. henhouse for friends that raised chickens for eggs. Affection trained, the chickens would flutter into your arms to get petted.
