OK!
I am getting ready to drive the 200 miles or so south towards Salem/Eugene Oregon.
I figured it's also a good time to test my survival skills, somewhat lightly.
So far I have packed: three cans of Chef Boyardee, three cans of sardines, two cans of Dinty moore stew. Forks and knives and spoons as well. A garbage bag for the empty cans. My three cameras, well, two cell phones and an older Vivitar camera.
I have an extra gallon of gas in my trunk, plus oil and ATF.
Anything else? Any hints/tips?
I remember the incident!
That was back when the state surplus store was down near the GSA complex in Auburn.
I am so glad you received it in good order and delighted that your father is alive and kicking and hitting tennis balls!
FReepers stick together!
Regards,
djf
Sweet!

Shotgun to prevent hoards of people who didn't bring a portable toilet from filling up yours.

WEATHER FORECAST...
Leaving at five a.m., you should get there in plenty of time. I live right on the Wyo., SoDak border. We will have 96% totality here, so I’m staying put.
Over 60 posts and nobody mentioned toilet paper???
Use binoculars.
How long you have to look at the full eclipse if you’re in the region of totality... https://eclipse2017.nasa.gov/sites/default/files/interactive_map/index.html
I hope you're joking. Binoculars or a telescope will concentrate the light on your retina and cause permanent eye damage.
I’m happy for you for the opportunity.
I am devastated that I had to cancel my 500 mile trip because of health reasons. This is something I’ve looked forward to my entire life, and now it’s destroyed. Damn older age.
We got one of the last rooms in Laramie, Wyoming in February.
Staying there Sunday night, then hopefully driving to a spot in what is usually the middle of nowhere for the eclipse. Then heading for the Black Hills for a day.
I’m going to fly my Learjet up to Nova Scotia to see the total eclipse.
It's supposed to pick up later today and tomorrow, but we locals are wondering if people decided to head to Central Oregon instead, which is shaping up to be the Woodstock of 2017.
Lol!
LMAo!
reminds me Mr. McGoo lost much of his sight looking at an eclipse.
Don’t forget your cravat.
I just hope that traffic isn’t going to be a nightmare. Glad that it’s in a great, pro armed citizen state, too.
I always have at least six rolls of TP in my vehicles.
I was half being snarky, but I did see a YouTube video of using binoculars to project the image onto a flat surface like a projector. Definitely don’t use them to look directly at the sun.
