OK!
I am getting ready to drive the 200 miles or so south towards Salem/Eugene Oregon.
I figured it's also a good time to test my survival skills, somewhat lightly.
So far I have packed: three cans of Chef Boyardee, three cans of sardines, two cans of Dinty moore stew. Forks and knives and spoons as well. A garbage bag for the empty cans. My three cameras, well, two cell phones and an older Vivitar camera.
I have an extra gallon of gas in my trunk, plus oil and ATF.
Anything else? Any hints/tips?
Thank goodness some are ignoring it.
Less traffic.
Wyoming honors Colorado concealed carry permits so no worries there.
The sign described in Rev. 12 is supposed to happen on the 23rd. Whether anything else happens, I really don’t know.
Then you must love spam, spam, egg bacon spam spam spam and spam?
Totality is two minutes, the entire thing is a couple hours.
Research what happens, shadow bands, Baileys Beads, diamond ring, corona. Lots of stuff.
We stopped for dinner. Heading from MD to SC
I have a number 14 arc welder’s filter I’m going to use to look at the sun. I’ll get roughly 83 percent coverage by the moon where I live.
Incidentally, I think the Great Eclipse Migration of 2017 will turn more heads than the eclipse itself.
Great Eclipse Migration prepper PING!
Add a telephoto lens. Otherwise the sun will just be a bright dot in the picture.
There is partial coverage over the entire Lower 48. I hope you’ll be able to see something.
Water. Glasses approved for viewing toilet paper.
Wow!
Yes!
Spam, bacon, kimchi, mayo,
salted cuke slices, and Cuban sammich bread .
Cuban bread recipe (my recipe).
2 cups flour (bread or unbleached - but plain works, too)
2 tsp yeast
2/3 cup water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
Mix it up.
Let it rise for an hour.
Roll it out using a rolling pin and shape like a blimp.
Tuck the ends in like you’re making a jelly-roll.
Let it rise until doubled in size.
Bake for 25+/- minutes @ 425.
Sometimes....the world is your toilet.
If you’re going to Salem/Eugene, be sure all your shots are up to date.
Lol!
Well it was in Salem that I came up with my last invention, not quite perfected yet.
The kneepad/brassiere is still in development!
You’re going to Salem/Eugene?
Be sure to take a live chicken, a xylophone, 3 cotton balls and some prunes.
That is the ONLY way you’ll get out of there after the eclipse.
Don’t ask me how I know.
The horror.....the horror.....
Do you need any help with design?
I’m kind of an engineer.
Well, actually, I’m not, but I have a calculator.
It needs batteries, though.
I guess maybe you better go on without me.
You’re so vain! You probably think this post is about you. Don’t you?
Same in Tillamook. There are however very full campgrounds and lots of overflow camping up here. I suspect 101 will be nuts very early in the morning on Monday. It’s one of those “it’s quiet, too quiet” moments.
