A doctor has revealed the secrets behind the worlds healthiest village and there it all comes down to eating less sugar.
Cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra who describes himself as a former sugar addict has spent years studying the reasons behind rocketing rates of heart disease and obesity in Britain.
Key to his research were residents of the village of Pioppi, in southern Italy, where diabetes is unheard of and many live to over the age of 100.

Pay God a lot of money to forestall His appointed time for you- down deal
A servant was in a market one day- saw a hooded figure, who turned and looked at him and scared him silly-
The servant ran to his master and said “Master- you have to help- I saw death, he looked at me, I need a fast horse to flee”
Master said “Certainly, here, ride to Samaria” Servant takes off lickity split
Master goes to market sees death and asks “Why did you scare3 my servant?”
Death said “Sorry- didn’t mean to- I was just surprised to see him here, I have an appointment with him in Samaria tomorrow”
Five Minutes After I Die
Loved ones will weep oer my silent face,
Dear ones will clasp me in sad embrace
Shadows and darkness will fill the place,
Five minutes after I die.
Faces that sorrow I will not see,
Voices that murmur will not reach me
But where, oh where will my spirit be?
Five minutes after I die.
Here I have rested and roved and ranged
Here I have cherished and grown estranged
There and then it will all be changed,
Five minutes after I die.
Naught to repair the good I lack
Fixed to the goal of my chosen track,
No room to repent, no turning back
Five minutes after I die.
Mated for aye with my chosen throng
Long is eternity, O so long
Then woe is me if my soul be wrong,
Five minutes after I die.

Another village we are supposed to emulate due to longivity of the people? How many villages does that make over the years.
Some village in the Caucus area of Russia and Vilcabamba Equador were the hot spots forty years ago. Peace and harmony, close to nature, Shangri-Las on earth, and such nonsense.

I guess they forgot the Bourbon part of the diet.

Most have no clue what it means to live under a LORD. Accepting the gift of salvation from the Judge on the throne is the first step (He becomes your defense lawyer) but the lifelong commitment (represented in marriage) is the next. The parable of the seeds is given to explain what happens when people hear the truth of the Gospel.
I read that a lot of the people in the Russian wilderness areas lied about their birth dates so they would qualify for the Soviet pension while still young. In a lot of those isolated villages written records were unknown and the communists just gave up and took everyone at their word.
Seems a more likely theory than any other.
Hey, two out of eight ain’t bad.
***I read that a lot of the people lied about their birth dates so they would qualify for the Soviet pension***
LOL. I read they lied about their age to keep from getting drafted into the army.
About 18 months ago I changed my diet from vegan to ketogenic.
The results were amazing.
After 6 months, my blood work was off the charts good. Cholesterol 117, triglycerides from 398 to 50, blood pressure from 130’s/80’s down to 100/60 and I eat like a pig and do not exercise.
I do love to hike and hike regularly in the mountains but I do not consider that exercise. It’s fun. My 86 year old mother who cannot really exercise transitioned to the keto diet and is losing weight w/o lifting a finger.
Weight management is 99% diet and 1% exercise.
I eat zero sugar and carbs, no dairy, no cheese but tons of butter as much as I want. Most days I eat over a half stick of butter and sometimes more.I am never ever hungry and these days I have to fight with myself to eat at least 2000 calories. With keto it is really easy to forget eating. You are never hungry.
First, live to 99.
Then go one more year.
I remember Steve Martin had a sketch about how to make a million dollars and never pay taxes.
He said:
“First, make a million dollars”
“then when the tax man comes simply say ‘I forgot’”
Have good genes.
I remember my mom commenting on an article predicting a 200-year lifespan in the future. She said “Who wants to be a little old lady for 130 years?”
She made 95, BTW.
That is exactly my take on my 2-4 sessions a week of recreation pick-up basketball. But those 40-50 year old kids are killin' me!
Your bus analogy is very good. Before I retired I was upset that I had to miss work because I was sick. I told my boss, “I don’t mind being dead, but I HATE being sick!”. She laughed - is a Christian so she understood. Some others didn’t.
“LOL. I read they lied about their age to keep from getting drafted into the army.”
I can buy that one too.
Probably a combination of the two.
People will find a way to work any system.

______________
Diet can only go so far. The “kids” are still younger and more agile.
Still my diet has been so amazingly effective that I stick with it.
These days my definition of success is never having to see the doctor and never going to the hospital. I do not care what my problems are. Staying healthy ensures that my life improves every day!If I am without docs or hospital for another day my day has been massively successful!
.
Most refuse to hear the Gospel (Torah)
Matthew 7:21-23 is about exactly that.
Paul also addressed it in Hebrews 4:3
He makes it clear that Moses Torah was the same Gospel that he preached, and that it was oft refused.
.
Wow...that’s very close to my practices, except #8.
I extend “the enemy” to starchy carbs (pasta, rice, potato, bread) as well. Especially fried (French Fries), even worse when washed down with sugary drinks.
The focus should be nutrition and movement. I try to do 2 miles of power walking a day. You NEED oils too, EVOO is great and the fat in meat shouldn’t be feared.
