FULL TITLE: Abducted student, 15, was forced to hide from teacher, 50, after he began showing up to her work unannounced reveals her tearful sister in emotional family interview
The family of a 15-year-old Tennessee high school student who was last seen on March 13 shared shocking new claims about the girl's relationship with her teacher in an emotional interview with Good Morning America.
The sister of Elizabeth Thomas fought back tears as she revealed that Tad Cummins, 50, had begun showing up unannounced at her sister's work shortly before the pair disappeared together, and that his last visit had come just two days before the girl's abduction.
'She would go and tell people to tell him she wasn't there and she would go and hide until he left,' explained Sarah Thomas.
'She thought it was the only way. She felt uncomfortable.'
This latest news about the relationship between the pair comes shortly after investigators learned that the two had been sending love letters to one another which were at times sexually charged by writing draft emails on a shared classroom computer at Culleoka School.
Meanwhile, Cummins' wife Jill spoke with NBC News on Monday and urged her husband to turn himself in, saying: 'You know you can't hide forever. For your sake and for Beth's sake, please go to the police or please just drop Beth off somewhere safe.'
She also said 'nobody understands the pain and shock I am in now.'

In some states they can apply for a work permit. Oh they can only work like 15 hours a week but yes they can hold after school jobs. Know my brothers did. Can 15 year olds do this in your state?
Oh this is an English newspaper...where at 15 a child has often already finished high school and is working...

I see the article says the authorities now believe that Thomas was a willing participant.
You have to wonder what she was missing at home that made her consider this.

Mom appears to be a few beers shy of a six-pack.
News 2 also learned that Thomas mother, Kimberly Thomas, hasnt had contact with her five minor children in over a year. There are 10 children in all, but five of the children are adults.
In January of 2016, Mrs. Thomas was charged with four counts of child abuse and neglect. A family friend we spoke to denied the allegations tied to the charges were true.
