My daughter started work at 14 in a “farmer’s market” store. Young people are allowed to work in agriculture in some jurisdictions.

I picked cotton at age 11. I actually did it and chopped cotton younger than that but didn’t get paid.

At 14 I worked 7 days a week during the summer at a swimming pool for $5 a week.

And I walked 8 miles to school... Up hill in both directions.

Me, too. Got my work permit at 14 to pick berries and grapes for a local farmer. (Is that a job that “Americans won’t do”?)
