Beauty is a gift that ought to come with a caveat: a warning sign stating that while being gorgeous might sound like fun, when it comes to relationships, oh boy, are you in for a rough time. I should know. You can call me immodest, vain even, for admitting so freely that in my youth I was good looking. But then, I believe that had I not been so beautiful, I might still be married to the man I once loved. The fatal flaw in our relationship was I blossomed to become so much better looking than he was. My poor ex couldnt cope with living in my shadow and constantly felt jealous and insecure.

She ain’t all that. She ain’t notable looking at all, in fact. Not ugly. Certainly not extraordinarily beautiful.
“Theyre divorced because shes a slut.”
That pretty much sums it up in one simple sentence.
I can think of literally countless women prettier than that little whore that are faithful that dress very modestly.
Her looks are not the problem, her gutter personality is.
In order to avoid the temptation of super models hitting on me, I’ve disguised myself as an old fat married guy with no money. So far it’s worked.
So go be a slut then LOL.
Just when you think she got a good enough beating with an ugly stick, along came a plastic surgeon with an ugly Louisville Slugger.
Ugly bitch who thinks she’s beautiful. A “plain” face with a beautiful soul is better than a “beautiful” face with an inane soul.

And here I was thinking I was the only one who came up with that strategy. Oh man, it’s kept Rachel Hunter and Kathy Ireland from wasting entire weekends of smearing their naked selves on me.
She's also perfect for those "Our Time" ads (50+ dating site).
Dude dodged a bullet.
Sounds like a narcissist to me.
Manufacturing excuses for crappy sexual behavior is, it appears, a growth industry.
It is a heavy burden we bear.
Abbott and Costello had a comedy routine years ago. If memory serves me, it went something like this:
Abbott: Don’t you want to marry a beautiful woman?
Costello: Nah. I’m afraid she’d run away on me.
Abbott: Wouldn’t an ugly woman be just as likely to run away on you too?
Costello: Yeah, but then who cares?
You are a rock. I broke under the pressure.
Mr. GG2 gets hit on all the time. He never even looks at other woman.
Red Fox used it in his act: Marry an ugly woman, that way you’re glad when she leaves you.
If being beautiful is such a curse, dye your hair mousy brown, put on horn-rimmed glasses, and wear frumpy clothes. Problem immediately solved.
FTA: “It was only when middle age struck, bringing with it at last a rather more mature frame of mind, that I began to tire of it all.”
She claims that middle age gave her a “mature frame of mind”, but the truth is she wasn’t in such demand any longer and so she finally decided to settle down. She is nasty. She writes of her now husband, “he is as far removed from the playboy type I used to go for as you could imagine, and I hope hell forgive me when I say less conventionally good-looking, too.”
I find it very doubtful that she will make this marriage last. She is too hung up on her “good looks” to be satisfied with her current situation.
Now look here...I’ve seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears over several decades and it’s worse than ever now with the advent of social media. It’s not a “tactic” as you allege.
BTW,
Sounds like you’ve had some experience with therapists. Otherwise, why would you you recommend it to somebody else?
Wow, two great recollections! Thank you for sharing those. We sometimes think that when we do something right or good, that it is of no importance. Those incidents show otherwise.
There’s an applicable passage in the Bible that says, “Let us not grow weary in doing good.” Thanks for showing how important that is!
