A viral video shows a group of women storming into a Nordstrom to cancel their accounts in response to the retailer's decision to stop selling Ivanka Trump's fashion brand, promising to shop at Dillard's instead.
Laurie Ray posted a video on Facebook of herself and seven other women some wearing shirts with photos of President Donald Trump that say "Haters Gonna Hate" walking into Nordstroms in Chandler, Arizona, with handfuls of cash to cancel their accounts.
"I've been shopping at Nordstrom for 30 years," one woman in the video says, speaking into a telephone. "Because of your decision to drop Ivanka Trump, I will no longer shop at your store, nor will my husband or our nine children or our eight grandchildren."
Instead, the women say they are "headed to Dillard's to buy all kinds of stuff." Dillard's continues to sell Ivanka's brand.
Ray said on Facebook that ditching Nordstrom was a "YUGE" sacrifice because it was her daughter's go-to place to buy shoes, but that she made the decision to support Ivanka.
"A big group of us are meeting at Nordstrom's to cancel our accounts, than over to lunch at Cheesecake Factory," Ray said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. "Afterwards we are headed to Dillard's to #buyivanka and open up accounts there."
The video of the women shopping went viral quickly, with more than 422,000 views as of Thursday afternoon.
Earlier in February, Nordstrom cut ties with Ivanka Trump's brand, citing disappointing sales. The move came after months of online efforts from the anti-Trump #GrabYourWallet movement, which has encouraged shoppers to boycott any retailer that does business with the Trump family.
Since Nordstrom's decision to cut ties with Ivanka, some supporters of Donald Trump, like Ray, have threatened to boycott the retailer.

While I hate the companies deciding “we’re liberal, you’re evil if you don’t agree”, I do like that these women had a plan - we will shop at Dillards instead. That gives you an alternative of where to go with your dollars, instead of “I won’t shop at X, until I get tired of not getting Y”. Having the list of companies to endorse is good.
Since liberals tried to boycott Chickfila and Hobby Lobby, I shop there a lot more.
Nordstroms Rack has been my fave store forever. I also shop Saks Off Fifth and Newman Marcus Last Call. Guess they’ll be getting more of my biz. I actually really like SOF.
Say what????? My granddaughter and I were shopping last Monday and I had no idea Dillards sold Ivanka. Of course I’m too old to buy that brand but I would have bought my granddaughter something just to support Dillards. Oh well, she be back home from college in a few weeks and it’s off to Dillards we go!.......;)
The power of the purse!
Gee, shopping is a form of freedom of speech.
Perfect!
Bada bing, bada boom.
Also, these women were not wearing obscene costumes and spewing 4-letter words.
If you cancel and don’t tell them why, they just assume you can no longer afford to shop that tier of store and that none of their competition will be getting your business either. They don’t really care much about that.
“I am boycotting you and making a lot of bad PR about it” often makes them pay attention, as leftists have shown.
However, “I am boycotting you, making a lot of bad PR for you about the boycott *and* demonstrably taking my money to your competition and generating good PR for them out of it,” tends to (or at least it should) be far, far more effective at getting their attention.

Sorry but I am 80 years old and have many Ivanka pieces. Size 14 fits my usually 16 range. I try not to dress my age as older friends seem to wear loose fitting clothing.
I do not try to “teeter” around in her style shoes. I have no desire to fall wearing those small heels. Dressy wedge heeled ones are good for me.
Draped blouses to go under jackets and nice narrow leg slacks are my favorites. Many of these pieces come from Ross stores which cuts the cost for nice fabrics and pretty colors to the 20-30 dollar range( other stores 48-85 dollars ) Styles are like Lauren and Ann Klein, pretty traditional. No “big” florals that I remember.
Skirts and dresses run too short for me at 5’8”
I am currently designing and going to sew a soft pink dress and jacket with a wrap front similar to Melania’s Inaugural blue one. Christmas gift Michael Kors bag is the reason to use a matching pink fabric.
Think young and feel young!

Give hell ladies.

Brilliant... Love it.
She is one classy, beautiful American woman.
Thanks for posting that.
My wife has had a Nordstrom card for 40 years - plus a Nordstrom Visa from when they first began offering them.
All of our household purchases went on the Visa, so that we could get Nordstrom Notes. My last Boss suit was entirely purchased with them.
Those days are GONE NORDSTROM! My wife said she has had enough of you attacking our President - and thereby our country!
NORDSTROM, YOU’RE FIRED!!!
Elegance and class.
It just doesn’t get any better than Ivanka.
I found a beautiful Ivanka dress at SteinMart today - tried it on and it fit perfectly and beautifully! I’m so impressed!! I bought it with a smile on my face and can’t wait to wear it for a special occasion! I’m so tickled to have a piece of history in my closet!! :)
