Melania Trump channeled Jackie Kennedy in Ralph Lauren at Donald Trump's inauguration. Melania's had a much more toned-down style the past few days. Is her new look hot or not?
Is Melania Trump's style sexy or dowdy? There has been a huge debate the last 24 hours about the First Lady's inauguration looks. Long sleeves, conservative silhouettes and muted makeup have defined her looks yesterday and today. Is this Melania Trump 2.0?
It is clear that Donald Trump's team is trying to paint a new picture. That image? A wholesome First Lady and mother. But will America buy the message?
Melania and the Trump family arrived at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C. from New York on a military jet yesterday. She was decked out in a black Norisol Ferrari coat with a matching black fitted dress. She wore the same outfit later that day during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns. The family then headed to a luncheon at Donalds hotel and a pre-inaugural concert at the Lincoln Memorial.

That night, Melania wore her first formal dress of the inauguration. And, again, it was very conservative and toned-down. While Melania stunned in a glittery gold Reem Acra dress at the candlelit dinner at Union Station, she was completely covered up. The dress was long and had long sleeves. She showed no skin and wore barely any makeup.
Today, Melania chose to wear a stunning blue Ralph Lauren number. Again, it was a very modest choice for the former model. Many have pointed out, though, that the cashmere cropped jacket, mock turtleneck dress, suede clutch and gloves could be a nod to Jackie Kennedy. Blue also shows the Trumps are trying to be bipartisan. Instead of her usual blowout, Melania chose to put her hair in an updo.
Melania is known for her glitzy style. Shes been a model since she was 5. Throughout the campaign, Melania wasnt taken seriously, especially after she plagiarized Michelle Obamas speech. Now that shes going to be First Lady, though, her team is trying counteract that. They want to repaint the picture.

Ivanka, meanwhile, completely overshadowed Melania in a bold green Oscar de la Renta coat and a dress yesterday. Could that be a sign of things to come?
Sources have speculated that Ivanka will take more of a First Lady role, especially because Melania will be in New York with Barron. And Ivanka was very involved with the campaign. Ivanka is already taking center stage while Melania is receding into the background. And their style choices show just whos important.

Melania Trump, dowdy? They’ve got to know by now that they’re not fooling anyone, not with the slavish praise over Michelle Obama who occasionally managed to look decent but overall was worse than dowdy. And, not with trying to find something, anything to pick at regarding Melania Trump’s appearance.
She was stunning, in everything she wore. The blue Ralph Lauren outfit was especially noteworthy. Every single one of them was appropriate to the occasion, beautiful and suited her to an absolute tee.
The press needs to find a more believable target for their partisan sniping. This is just laughably lame.
“Thats a nice picture of Lotta Butt, one of the Butt sisters!”
Sister of Ima and Ura. Texas reference.
I think Oregon State has contacted Michael to remind him he still has a couple of years of eligibility left.
This crappy Hollywood Take site seems to be intent on picking on the Trump woman. There was another veiled snarky post about Melania yesterday.
Already sick of it.
Caesar’s wife and all that...
The head where his brain is located gets more blood flow at those times.
Her "guns." They actually called them her "guns."
We definitely have time-honored Freeper Rules here such as “Any post about Maureen Dowd must be accompanied by a hot photo of Katherine Zeta Jones, “ or “Ann Coulter threads must include photos of her pretty legs,” or “Hillary or Loretta Lynch Cankle photos must include either a public service pre-warning or an accompanying eye wash station,” etc.
Do you think we need to add a new Freeper Rule (for the gentlemen here, of course): Any posts regarding the lovely Melania Trump must also include photos. What do you think??? Should we consult Laz’s expert opinion on this? LOL!
LMAO, I love you guys/gals! It’s a GREAT day in America!
Free popcorn for all!
My fashion opinion: I liked the blue parade dress, didn’t like the ball gown, generally don’t share Mrs. Trump’s taste for busy necklines.
I thought the libs resented it when First Ladies were valued only for what they wore? Typical hypocritical leftist.
They both looked ridiculous. Mrs. Italy bearing too much skin; Moochelle, too much butt.
Ohmygosh. Melania Trump wouldn’t be dowdy in a potato sack. She has an inner beauty which cannot be diminished.
Michelle was already looking away, while Melania was still presenting the gift. How distasteful was that!
Mooning much?
I never noticed, but by golly, it appears Michelle might have breasts on her buttocks.
Michelle was always depicted as the most stunning First Lady EVER..no, they do not know real class when they see it.
I thought her outfits were chic, elegant and worthy of the occasion. I guess it’s been so long since we’ve seen dignified elegance in the White House that nobody recognizes it anymore.
Liberal attire? Must be the Hillary Maoist Jacket and Pants suit.
She looks fantastic, unlike the former First Wookie, who needed 3 hours of makeup and 3 hours of Photoshop to make the cover of Vogue.
“I guess its been so long since weve seen dignified elegance in the White House that nobody recognizes it anymore.”
They don’t ‘want’ to recognize it.
