More ching ching more Disney. I was in Orlando last week and the Star Tours ride at Hollywood Studios is incorporating the new post-Lucas stuff.

Also, they have a march of a platoon of Stormtroopers led by Captain Plasma and one can get a photo with Kylo Ren.

I heard it’s a VERY diverse cast and a possibly gay female couple :)

How about the ACTUAL movie. Was it good?

Just the new droid alone and the epic brutal scene at the end with Darth Vader are worth the price of admission.

The movie was amazing. By far the darkest of all the Star Wars movies, but also the most realistic in that respect. No jumping down garbage chutes or miraculous escapes for the heroes.

Also, if there was a gay couple or any "political/PC" overtones I did not see them. This was a flat out smash em up shoot it out action movie.

In fact the only truly political aspect was the Rebel leadership being very quisling and wimpy which basically caused a small group of true patriots to take matters into their own hands.

I wonder how stomach-turning the GRRL PWR is. The last one was almost unwatchable.

Diverse, yes. There was a white guy somewhere in there if you count a reptilian creature with a locust valley lockjaw accent

Was it good? A lot of shooting. Camera A waayy too close up to two hours of scuffling, shooting some girl pouting. I could not stay awake. My kid says it was a good movie. Was waiting for Dark Helmet to call for a ten minute break for coffee.

No idea

My two son’s have seen it already. One went twice.

I wish I had that kind of disposable income.

155 Million Globally may not mean much. They suppress this is the Global take from thousands if not hundreds of thousands of theaters around the globe.

The $155 MM is domestic. It almost hit $300 MM worldwide.

Agreed! Great action movie, inspiring as well....Hope is always a good thing and can motivate people to do extraordinary things despite overwhelming odds!

As far as any Politically Correct BS....didn’t see any...if you’re going to go to a movie looking for that, you will never be able to enjoy anything.

Suggest that anyone who wishes to see this movie just take it as it presented! It is thoroughly enjoyable!

The First act suffers from what WAY to many modern movies do. That is jumping all over the place and not establishing the main character or main setting enough.

However as most people have said, the third act was Pretty Damn Awesome.

Spoilers (Highlight to read)"Carrie Fisher only looks Twice her age, instead of three times like in real life! Ah, the horrors of CGI."

I will say, they do have to be careful not turning the Stormtroopers into Team Rocket.

It is fun watching them get shot down, but they still need to be menacing. This movie and the Force Awakens needed to dial back the Comedy with the Stormtroopers a bit (yes yes I know the Ewoks in ROTJ, but that is the worst part of the Original Trilogy and a George Lucas idea)

I found it fairly boring and predictable. It seemed like forced acting with characters one cannot connect with - could not escape into it at all. Yeah lots of special effects and people dying - but escapism like the old stories did? Nope.

Actually it was probably the best of the Star Wars movies — maybe on the same ground as Empire. I may be blasted for that statement, but it was really great. No cute Ewoks, no stupid Jar-Jar. It was more like a fast paced war movie like the Dirty Dozen, Guns of Navarone or Where Eagles Dare.

Darth Vader was just plain scary — now you know why everyone was afraid of him. This was a movie by fans for fans. As for the overhyped “gay couple”, it is never really stated. It was two guys who fought together for many years — their relationship was more like brothers in arms, not gay. Hopefully people won’t get wrapped around the axle about that.
