Electoral College voters based in Colorado have formed a political non-profit to block Donald Trump from the presidency.
According to The Denver Post, Michael Baca, a Democratic elector, filed paperwork Tuesday with the Colorado Secretary of State's Office to create the "Hamilton Electors," a group able to fundraise unlimited donations from individuals, corporations and labor unions for political reasons.
The goal of the group is to convince Republican and Democratic Electoral College voters to unify behind a Republican alternative for President or force an Electoral College deadlock.
I was opposed, actually, to raising money because I would prefer to just have this done organically, Baca told The Denver Post. But weve had people throwing money at us through our website.
Baca also told the newspaper several Democratic voters and one Republican voter have officially committed to the movement, and the group is in talks with four other Republican voters as well. It will be difficult however. There are laws in 29 states that prohibit electors from voting contrary to how the state's population votes.
Ultimately, Baca thinks the success of the movement is unlikely, but is pursing it anyway.
In all likelihood, when its all said and done, well probably end up sending that money back to the people, Baca told The Denver Post.

So far only Hillary electors have said they won’t vote Trump, so the loss so far is ZERO.
They’re all dems. Not a single one was going to vote for Trump anyway. WTH do these clowns think they’re going to achieve here?
It’s time to seize the power we won. Traitors beware.
But you see it has the coveted effect of making them “feel” better.
But Colorado didn’t go to Trump?
welcome to the party
mine has been finely tuned since 1998
This has a real chance of succeeding to turn other wavering Trump electors in other states, particularly the closely won formerly-blue states in the Rust Belt.
Money makes the world go 'round - and they're about to throw the doors to the vault wide open. Not a good situation at all.
I doubt they have 15 Trump electors who will not vote for Trump. The electors were selected SPECIFICALLY for their commitment to Trump.
These idiots had better go into the witness protection program
Are these people really that stupid?
Trying to subvert the electoral college, along with alienating a large block of American voters, will come with some serious consequences.
If these people manage to pull this off, the shooting war starts, and it will be between those specks of blue floating in the sea of red.
Sounds illegal; if it isn’t, it should be
there are just too many Americans keeping their powder dry, so to speak, for any such attempted usurpation of our electoral process....
these guys are very very very foolish to try this
very foolish
All of them should have their names and faces on billboards and TV around the country. If they own businesses let them risk losing everything they have. No slap on the wrist will work. They need to be severely exposed to the general public as to how worthless they are.
Baca. La Raza?
Where are you getting this> The electors were selected for their commitment to the Republican Party. That may or may not be a commitment to Trump, as we've so often seen over the course of this election.
These are the same people championing ex-NYC Mayor Bloomberg and Gov. Kasich as “reasonable conservative alternatives” to overthrowing the will of the people and the US Constitution.
Feeeeeelings,
WO-WO-WO Feeeeeelings...................
Who exactly do you plan on shooting at?
Really?
The list is very long!!
Desperate attempt to the point of lunacy to become relevant. Poor guy didn’t get his participation certificate.
The constitutional process allows them to do what they are doing.
