Did Trump and Romney make a deal prior to the election?
No
I can’t see any reason why it would have been necessary for The Donald to have made a deal with Romney before the election.
The rumor now is that David Petraeus will be the Secretary of State.
Romney is for Obamacare, globalism, interventionism, and open borders. He is the antithesis of everything I voted for.
So they think Trump and Romney made a deal such that if Romney calls him a fraud Trump will give him the SoS job?
My hope is that Romney gives his public apology and then Trump gives the job to someone else.
Bob Corker is the worst available option, right below Mitt Romney and he’s below everyone else, including the janitor at Foggy Bottom.
>> Trump needs ALL of the republicans in congress and all the governors to get his agenda through. Note that GOP has only a slim majority in Senate and many of the house reps are loyal to the GOPe
>> Gov’s Haley and Romney represent the GOPe. Trump knows how to make deals and get things accomplished. That is more productive than hardline purist strategy which gets nothing done.
>> The so called pure conservatives have accomplished nothing. No Wall, illegals flooding in, Obamacare in full force, $800 Billion annual trade deficits continue, food stamps population at record high, no Keystone pipeline, ISIS alive and operating, no tax cuts for middle class, abortions as high as ever, $20 Trillion national debt growing, etc etc.
Hey, magila, you’re an idiot.
I don’t think there is any deal.
Romney has been viciously speaking out against Trump.
Maybe Trump is considering forgiving him for that, but if there had been a deal, Romney clearly violated it, so he can’t expect forgiveness now.
No. Jeb made one with Romney.
no romney for anything. hes moldy toast.
So what kind of deal are you imagining? You think Trump agreed to let Romney do everything in his power to subvert his campaign against Hillary in exchange for what? If you hate Trump/are a NeverTrumper, I guess you can imagine anything whether it makes logical sense or not.
Corker, are you kidding? That deceptive, give Obama whatever he wants, reverse Constitution loving, RINO? No way.
Also no amount of words of apology from Mitt will help me accept him any better. He’s a liar. Corker is a Romney clone, an establishment RINO who thinks he can fool people with his deceptions. We’ve already had enough of a State Department that spends it time thinking up ways to lie to its own people.
My mother grew up in northwestern Oklahoma during the tail-end of the depression. Along with cattle and cotton and other things, her family raised turkeys. Her folks didn’t have a lot.
She said the turkeys would often surround a rattlesnake, she supposed to protect the chicks but they did it all the time, even when the little ones weren’t around.
Before she got there with a hoe, snakes might kill one or two of the gobblers. They never seemed to learn. They formed a circle around it, gobbled at it and wouldn’t leave it alone.
Trump has killed more snakes than we collectively could shake a hoe at. Let’s not be turkeys. Chill FRiend Magill.
Am I the only one who has noticed this?

He tried to organize the electoral votes in Utah to deny them to Trump
He continued behind the scenes to get electoral votes from Trump
When that failed he tried to get some no-name to run on an independent ticket to deny Utah to Trump.
Finally gave a speech totally critical of Trump...even though Trump supported his earlier campaign.
An apology for one of the above might just work...but the whole load is just beyond the pale.
Romney is a snake...and should be nowhere near any position in a Trump administration.
Romney butting in for the OH primary could’ve cost Trump the nomination. It was Romney’s henchmen who tried the coups, both before the nomination and that stunt to try to get Trump to step down before the election. “I’m sorry” just doesn’t cut it.
This is the deal they made: If Romney fully backed Trump after he got the nomination; when Trump won and was sworn in as president, he would then resign and appoint Romney as his successor and new president.
