A few days ago I watched the 2015 movie, "Steve Jobs" on the Tube. One word description: BORING!!! Despite great material to work with, it was one big borefest. Aaron Sorkin's scipt was largely to blame. It didn't feel like real people involved talking. It came off as a platform for SorkinSpeak. You can always tell a movie he has written. It has his peculiar SorkinSpeak which consists of rapid fire chit chat signifying nothing.
Okay, that is my idea of the most boring movie that I have ever seen. What is yours? Remember, this doesn't mean WORST movie, only most BORING movie.
The first weapon was the beginning of technology.
You won’t think it’s so boring when the computers take over. It’s called the Singularity and it’s about to occur a lot sooner than people think.
The baby is the computer. We are still in the baby stages, even though I am no longer calling the tech department to say “My little arrow disappeared!”
What a great thread. Oh, how about Superman IV. Dog.
Citizen Kane (1941)
The greatest film ever made was also the most boring.
Recently at least.
"Beasts of the Southern Wild" was unbelievably boring and it never went anywhere.
As a showcase for great Shakepearean actors they are OK, but I agree, they don’t translate well. The stage tradition is another thing entirely.
I enjoyed that movie AFTER I studied psychology and the dark occult.
Prior to that, first time I watched it, I thought it was long and drawn out like all Kubrick films.
Today I enjoy all Kubrick movies and see why people thought he was so good.
I still stand by my updated statement. :)
I watched “Reds” last night on TCM. I remembered correctly from when I saw it long ago. It’s gray.
Blair Witch Project.
My family went to see this dog, myself, my Dad, my Mom and two sisters. (It was a Swedish chick flick).
When, after hours of incredible boredom, the guy shoots the girl, my Dad and I started laughing so hard we were asked to leave.
SONG OF NORWAY. Poor excuse for a SOUND OF MUSIC WANNABE musical! I think I saw audience members puke it was so saccharine!
I paid big bucks to take a date to the roadshow engagement. She loved it!
It was so bad I don’t believe it was never released to video!
Another, Ross Hunter’s LOST HORIZON. Bombed at the box office.
When released to TV, it was billed as ROSS HUNTER’S GREAT HIT- LOST HORIZON!
War and Peace, any version, but the one from 50 years ago with Henry Fonda and Audrey Hepburn is especially excruciating.
Citizen Kane was ground breaking in cinematic technique -—
like low camera angles requiring sets with ceilings,
sound from the next scene starting while the previous scene is still playing, and a lot of stuff like that. As for acting and dialogue, yeah, there wasn’t a lot there.
I don’t know the name, but it had an Indian in a circle in it.........
Where to start...Public Enemies, Man of Steel, The Great Gatsby (original and remake).
There’s a Shakespeare play made into a movie with an all nude cast. Sir John Gilgud was in it. I got up and left. It was flat out boring AND offensive, which may have been the point.
Remains of the Day? I thought that was a great movie. Definately one you couldn’t watch with distractions. One of the saddest endings of a movie. Eyes Wide Shut was not only boring but it was down right irritating to watch.
Dancing with Wolves.
