Sin in haste, repent at leisure:
Target is launching a first-of-its-kind one-day sale to try and boost back-to-school shopper traffic amid a boycott over its bathroom policy. The retailer is offering a 10% discount on everything in its stores and online on Sunday. Target is calling the event #TargetRunDay.
It marks the first time Target has ever offered a 10% discount both in stores and on its website. The sale comes after Target last week reported its first quarterly traffic decline in more than two years.
This is what happens when you blindly hop on the social-justice bandwagon without consulting your customers, understanding their mores, or giving a damn about what they think. .....
Target's same-store transactions, which is how traffic is measured, fell 2.2% in the second quarter. Overall, sales fell 7.2% to $16.2 billion. "In the second quarter, our No. 1 challenge was traffic, which affected sales in all of our merchandise categories," Target CEO Brian Cornell said last week on a call with analysts.
Shopper traffic is falling amid a boycott over Target's new policy, announced earlier this year, that welcomes customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matches their gender identity. The announcement triggered an immediate backlash. Critics said the policy opened the door for sexual predators to victimize women and children inside the retailer's bathrooms, and more than 1.4 million people signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target unless it reversed the policy.

No thank you,we will not let you Target our children with your bathroom policy.10% will not buy our forgiveness for your disgusting bathroom and dressing room policy.Maybe the trannys and perverts can make up the difference in lost sales but we wont participate.
Don’t they have someone on staff who looks at social justice issues? I think a lot of companies do that. Back in the 80s, the foundation I worked for hired someone to keep track of trends in ‘social justice’. It’s one thing in a Foundation that purposely gives out money; but for a retailer it seems like suicide!
Target used to be called Daytons, yup the same Dayton family that spawned the current governor of Minnesota, the one who incited a race riot after the shooting of Philando Castile.
Minnesota has a lot of problems spurred on by carryover of the Nordic liberal culture which brought many to that particular state. Look at the terrorist related incidents for a clue.
Target?
W’at d’at?
THIS is why I feel the election may break to Trump.
Obama and Hillary tell us reality-inverting things, like transgenders belong in every bathroom, then Target goes along.... and nearly has a financial collapse.
Don’t you think the originators of this crap, Obama and Hillary, will have a political collapse?
ESAD, heterophobes! ...
Never.
Never ever.
Never ever ever.
Well, never say never. God’s grace can change situations.
Target lost my dollars when it filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court supporting the attempt to destroy biblical marriage—this was in August of 2014.
So long before Target supported child molesters and pervs using the “Man, I feel like woman” excuse to invade privacy, I quit supporting them with my hard-earned dollars.
I wish that were true, but the advent of “Chick-Fil-A” nation in 2011/2012 did not boot Hussein.
Remember the homosexual hatred spewed at Chick-Fil-A? Remember how Christians and other lovers of liberty of other religions flocked to support that company? I remember yuuuuge lines of people waiting to buy their sandwiches in order to counter the media hate against Chick-Fil-A.
I thought it was a harbinger of the coming vote; people sick and tired of media and leftist lies.
No Target evah.
This war has just begun.
...and before that there was the banning of Salvation Army bell ringers from in front of their stores before Christmas.
Ond dumb move after another, after another, after another...
Considering their prices are higher than Walmart’s and the products no better quality, why should I darken their doors? In fact I can get a lot of stuff cheaper on Amazon Prime.
We bought an adjustable bed because of my health, the seller wanted $300 for a set of split King 300 count rough sheets. Amazon had a set of Royal Hotel 80/20 Cotton/Polly sheets for $90. Feel like my 1500 count old sheets, and don’t wrinkle much or pill when washed like those 300 count would.
I wish somebody would pay me a fat salary to do that.
“Nope. This one’s BS too, will needlessly piss off a segment of our customer base and cost us money, do no real good, and is a distraction from why we’re here.”
Nope. the boycott still stands.
Too bad, so sad.
And it’s all about money.
They aren’t remorseful over doing something wrong. They are hurting financially and this is just a ploy to get the bucks flowing again.
They’ve given us no reason to trust them ever again.
I hope you go into bankruptcy Tar-Gay!
While I would like to see Target put out of business over this I would like to see real evidence that their current problems are due to the boycott. And based on the industry as a whole the sales may well be where they are because of the economics of the country right now.
It is difficult to be certain how much of this is related to the boycott. Which is too bad. Because of the boycott is responsible it would be nice to rub some liberal noses in it.
Target is a dangerous place to be since they think nothing of safety in the vain attempt to please the mentally ill liberals.
People instinctively shy away from dangerous places like target.
So sad, too bad, too late.
