Just watched Trump on O'Reilly and he expounded on the minimum wage.
Will someone in the know get to Trump and tell him to stifle his minimum wage talk.
This is a free market issue...not a state or federal issue.
all that minimum wages do is wipe out what ever wage increase a low wage employee gets if they stay with the same employer. this happens because within 6 months rent goes up, grocery goes up. the real reason that the democratic party supports minimum wage increases is so that they ac actually have people paying more taxes with there new increase of income that buys less stuff. another thing that increasing minimum wage does is make it so those on fixed income have less buying power because programs like social security tend not to increase as fast unless there is intervention buy the federal government. corporations actually love this because the increase in minimum wage actually hits startups that might be competition harder then the corporation.
Yeah, I would like Trump to be a smaller guv guy than he is. But the state level response is a good one. All hell would break out if he advocated the repeal of it and he wouldn’t get elected. The state level is a better approach and moore in keeping with the constitution too.
There should be no minimum wage. It kills jobs.
Pray America wakes
“He said that he was in favor of a minimum wage but it should be administered at the state level.
He came across as clueless.”
Why? That always worked for Cruz.
The minimum wage thing will always be a losing proposition for a real responsible person to correctly answer. It cannot be answered because the people have to be taken into the weeds of economic theory and that cannot really be done. Peoples’ eyes would glaze over.
That is a gotcha question, and he will be asked about it for the next three months because someone like Bill O”Reilly wants to make himself look tough and one who ask the really tough questions, unless he is asking Obama questions.
You don’t know what I make...............
The key to your concerns lies in the 10th amendment, and more importantly how the government treats the 10th.
Trump is great, but what you’re looking for is a Coolidge.
I had a friend I grew up with....go to work for McDonalds...in SoCal...in the mid to late 70's.
He became a manager pretty fast....and I heard he became a regional manager after that....
I'm thinking that's not the norm though....
LOL
Minimum wage is irrational, stupid, and socialistic.
Supporting it is also a requirement to get elected to any office in this country.
It is what it is.
Probably not. It certainly makes you ignorant of history. Whether it makes you a communist or not depends on what you might have learned outside of public schools.
We have plenty of illegals doing that. And that is one of the biggest problems.
The minimum wage needs to go up. I’m for it. Nobody can survive at the level it is at now. And don’t give me minimum wage is for teens first jobs. We have 40-year-olds working two minimum wage jobs because there is nothing else out there. It sucks right now.
Does that mean you think he's lying to get votes?
He should spend the same energy going after 60% of Conservative voters that will stay home and no he is not lying. just holding two opposing viewpoints at the same time. Reminds me of Liberals wouldn't you say?
What is better, a minimum wage which keeps the employee off welfare and actually puts in labor hours at the job,
-or-
Pay them welfare, food stamps, rent subsidy, medicaid, etc. And not have to do ANY work?
I am in favor of welfare option. Minimum wage is anti-capitalism.

If they take the job it's worth their while by definition, no?
Salient point - he says States should be deciders and not the Feds - are you working for Cruz?
By shoving this issue down to the states he avoids it politically and positions himself well for Conservatives as well as Bernie supporters.
As to my being a Cruzer...p!ss off.

Happy to piss off when others stop knee-jerking every time they think they hear something that "could be a problem".....
Glad you did a rethink though.
