FR brothers and sisters, this thread is for all the Ted Cruz supporters.
I'm a proud Texan, and ashamed of Ted Cruz. I am supporting the Trump / Pence ticket all the way. This experiment in a republic form of government with limited federal controls will not survive a Hillary presidency. I believe in my heart that Trump will be a transformational president. The good he'll do will outlive his Trump Towers.
As for Ted, I don't think he'll win another election here in the great state of Texas. That being said, there are FReepers who still support Ted. I'd like to hear from you. Why are you still defending or supporting Ted? What about this man and his behavior still draws your support for him at the cost of our republic. Because, that's what at stake in this election.
I don’t recall I ever used that term, frankly. But in light of his convention speech, it fits with regard to his pledge.
They chased themselves off. And if they stay home its their own fault.
Unless you count Canada.
Donald won because we need an in your face fighter who cares not a witt about politically correctness or whose elbows he bumps into a face with. Unfortunately since Ted was in his way he used those same elbows on him as he would anybody else. Donald has twisted a lot of otherwise good people into despising the best man who should have won.
Who the frak cares? Most are converted or are gone, why keep bringing this up.
While I agree more with Cruz's stands on all issues, I see that Trump has a much greater chance to win and that he hasn't been corrupted and he's hitting home runs on the most important issues. It's like that Rolling Stone song:
That is exactly how I feel and what I did.
I remember those photos & she looked be genuinely happy playing with & holding the girls. They looked like they adored being with Melania.
Those who supported Cruz in the Primary but support Trump in the general (like myself) have been ripped over and over on this site even after the #NeverTrump supporters were removed.
Do I regret my support of Cruz? No. With the information I had at the time, I dont feel like I made a mistake.
Do I regret some of the things Cruz has done in the last several months? Absolutely. He gave his word, and he broke his word. He put his personal agenda above the good of the country.
Its inexcusable and he has destroyed his political career.
Do I now support Trump? Absolutely. Last August I said that Trump had a very good chance of claiming the nomination and I would support him should that occur. It has and I support him.
Very well stated.
Apparently deliberately picking at scabs and unseemly gloating are more intoxicating and addictive on FR than moving on and seeking peace and unity for the country.
Cruz did what he did for reasons best explained by him alone. Let it go.
For some mysterious reason FReepers still insist on wallowing in the mire and seem to relish in taunting others. How about pouring energy in healing any residual divides?
No, Trump retweeted a hideous picture of Heidi Cruz. Something that went out on his personal twitter account.
He admitted it was a mistake.
Many of his supporters deny that either he sent the tweet or that he admitted it was a mistake, but he did.
A few days earlier, right before the Utah Primary, a PAC put up a Facebook ad targeted at Mormon women in Utah that showed pictures from a GQ photo shoot of Melania Trump that questioned the appropriateness of her being first lady.
The Cruz campaign denied connection with the PAC, and later Corey Lewandowski (Trump’s campaign manager at the time) said “But the bottom line is Roger Stone is as much tied to this campaign as the super PAC that leaked that is tied to the Cruz campaign.” indicating that he knew that the Cruz campaign was not behind the ad.
History is often revised as time goes on. That’s why I bookmark and screen shot news articles and stories.
I supported Cruz until Trump got the votes........I’m disappointed in Cruz’s reaction. With better judgement he could have easily preserved his future potential.
//Trump said horrible things about Teds wife and was over the top with his dad and the JFK thing.//
And Cruz started the wife thing. Also, Teds daddy was involved in the clique. Pics don’t lie.
I’m right here and I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Trump asked Cruz to speak, Cruz accepted. The speech was cleared by the Trump campaign and RNC hours before, so there were no surprises.
And in the speech, not a negative word was spoken about our nominee Mr. Trump. He congratulated him, and admonished voters to come out and vote for candidates that espouse conservative principles and follow the constitution. If Mr. Trump fits that description, then he must be one of the candidates Senator Cruz was talking about, right?
So, not be
Interesting. . .so. . .no need for them to vote for Trump, then.
What? You want the US to defend Erdogan against Russia?
Teds dad on the street handing out leaflets with Lee Oswald. Trump said isnt that odd?
Cruz supporters know that there is no room for Cruz supporters on FR any more. So they tend not to speak in defence of Cruz, out of concern that they might be banned for having done so.
FWIW, I’ve been here since the beginning of FR. We can get through this crazy time. I hope.
I was a Cruz supporter, and up until last night, I openly proclaimed that “Cruz is my man, but this is not his time, and therefore, I will support the Trump ticket, and I am against any establishment attempts to hijack the nomination that Trump won fair and square.” But after Cruz’s speech last night, I can’t see myself supporting Cruz for anything other that Sore Loser of the Year and the Barrack Hussein Obama Narcissist Award. Cruz is not only pathetic, but downright creepy.
With that said, I understand the bad blood given Trump’s personal attacks upon Cruz and his family; but if Cruz can’t look past that, then he should have declined the opportunity to give a twenty minute speech at the convention; or give a three minute speech like Reagan gave at the 1976 convention in which he attacked the Democrats and called for the Republicans to unify for the common good; but did not formally endorse Gerald Ford as the party’s nominee. Reagan had class even as a loser; Cruz obviously does not.
What I really had to laugh at this morning was Glenn Beck’s attempt to justify Cruz’s clusterf@#%, by claiming that Cruz promised to support the nominee, but never promised to endorse the nominee. What a DB!
