MANAFORT: Well, there's no cribbing of Michelle Obama's speech. These were common words and values that she cares about her family, that uh, that things like that. I mean, she was speaking in front of 35 million people last night - she knew that. I mean, to think that she would be cribbing Michelle Obama's words is crazy. I mean it's so, I mean once again, an example of a when a woman threatens Hillary Clinton how she seeks out to demean her and take her down. It's not going to work.
CUOMO: All I'm saying is the language is strikingly similar. I'm not making a big deal of it; I know everybody is talking about it this morning, but I don't think it's an allegation, it's not some suggestion without proof. I don't know why the campaign doesn't just own it and say people borrow phrases, that's what happened, and movie on? That's what, ironically, Obama did in 2008 when Clinton said he cribbed from Deval Patrick. He said, "Yeah, you're right, I did it."
MANAFORT: No, no he did do it. That's correct. But in this particular case, you know, there was a process certainly of collaboration that.. Certainly there's no feeling on her part that she did it. You know, what she did was use words that are common words, and to expect her to, to think that she would do something like that knowing how scrutinized her speech was going to be last night, is just really absurd.
CUOMO: Right, but again, that's assuming that it was Melania. I'm assuming that there were writers involved, but if that's the way you want to explain it, that's up to you. Let me ask you about something else.

OK this section looks plagiarized. “Your word is your bond”? Of all people to steal material from — Michelle Obama? Fire the idiot that did this.

Your original post was long and, to a lot of us, seemingly hysterical - including your comment about putting it through some computer thing to see all the plagiarizing.
It is a nothing burger. But I am concerned about the concern-trolls here and elsewhere who are blowing this spectacularly out of proportion. Many interesting things happened last night but this is all anyone - and some of us who should know better - is talking about.

Those are words anybody would come up with to talk about their upbringing. It’s absurd to call in plagiarism. There’s nothing original here to steal.
And of course, this brings up the question of what Cruz has in mind for Thursday night. Trump should fire every last member of his communications team, but the timing becomes somewhat critical. Too soon, and loose cannon Ted might go rogue. Too late and it looks petty.
I think he should fire them before Thursday, and remove Cruz from the schedule. To do it would require an iron-clad account of why. Manafort should not be sitting in morning TV shows, he should be overseeing an investigation and coming up with a way to credibly take Cruz out.

Partisans on both sides will lie to protect their own. That’s why people are so disgusted with politics. A fair reading of the following shows it is identical. So yes it was stolen. whoever did it should be fired. We have a war to fight and we certainly don’t want to be stealing words from liberal democrats.

I’m planning to vote for Trump because he’s not Hillary and he’s the only one who has a snowball’s chance of stopping her.

It was totally planned... down to the last word and the rickroll. I just had a long talk with my son who is a total Reddit geek. He said that this community are hugely pro-trump and are laughing their collective you know whats off over this whole thing. Look on Youtube for Melania Rickroll. I also just learned about 4D and 5D chess which is what the geeks say Trump is playing. Not sure what that means. Also there is something called 4Chan which my son says, “don’t go there mom, its sort of raw but they are totally pro-trump”

In my so very humble opinion, the best thing for Trump campaign to do now is......admit it was a mistake done by some staff member in submitting the text to Melania, and move on. It is a serious mistake to refuse to acknowledge the mistake or fight it.
Rush Limbaugh played several instances of past plagiarisms by Obama, Biden, and others, on his show this morning. But at the end of day, to me anyway, it is just words in English.
