ROFL!

Assad can go back to crushing radicals (and supporting terrorism, which he’d better stop).

ISIS and the “moderate fighters” in Syria are done now.

Putin plays a great game of chess.

Our guy can’t even play checkers.

So he tells his people to resist to the Death—and then jets off for Germany. Classy.

Maybe they resent his shakedown over the refugee crisis?

I'm wondering how this works. Turkey's in NATO. What if the Kurds declare independence? Does NATO have an obligation to fight the Generals who took power? etc

This could get weird.

Too bad we dont have a coup here. We have far more reasons to have one than Turkey. We actually have an enemy that has taken over the WH and is part of a terrorist network that almost had the military and the FBI believing that American patriots were the enemy.

Interesting timing. Just a coincidence that news hits the wires after the markets close.
Hmmmmmmmmmm.....just a coincidence I’m sure.
Wouldn’t want the long position in the fraud markets to get burned.
Liked to have been privi to the exchanges of the top brass in Nato.

I posted this on another thread; fits here too. By the way, this Coup is taking place while Erdogan was on vacation, hah. Never leave your throne unwatched when your reign is a shaky one:

Erdogan has gotten rid of or jailed military higher ups (generals, etc.) many of whom were Western trained (primarily in the U.S.) and are Western oriented. Erdogan has fired/replaced them with his own flunkies who are much more oriented to the Muzzie/sharia law religious philosophy.

In the U.S., Obama has done the same thing, replacing our military higher ups (or outright firing them) with his own flunkies, and those who will enforce his secularist/diversity oriented philosophy in the Armed Forces.

Obama has to go ASAP; he is our version of a dictator, accomplished through Executive Orders, a subservient SCOTUS, rules and regulations by Department edicts (such as the EPA), and Courts throughout the land that have been packed with liberal judges, along with the acquiescence of the corrupt MSM. Oh, and his own Dem party, equally corrupt as Obama and without any moral fiber or true love of country.

Trump MUST win in November. Glad the Never Trumpers got nowhere at the Pub convention, as they too are working against our country’s interests in such dangerous times.

Yup. Islam is Islam.

Says it all.

Occam’s razor is the answer. It is simple: Islam is Islam.

People like you frighten me. Are you seriously calling for a military coup? You’d be very disappointed if you think the US military would do something like that. It would be the end of our country.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan 'flees country in private jet' after military launches coup

WOO! HOO!!!

I am just amazed that it took so long.

Kemal Ataturk must be somewhere, smiling....

I just hope that the military obliterate completely even the tiniest remnant of the Islamic terrorist fools who destroyed what made Turkey almost a civilized country for the better part of the 20th Century.

I always think of this fellow when Turkey is in the news...

"Everybody must know that the Turkish armed forces will not tolerate the use of the opportunities of democracy by the enemies of the system as a means to dynamite the basic principles of our state...”
retiring Chief of Staff General Huseyin Kivrikoglu, Turkey*

* Hüseyin Kıvrıkoğlu (born 1934) is a Turkish general, who became the 23rd Commander of the Turkish Armed Forces on August 28, 1998 for a four-year term. He also served as Chief of the Turkish General Staff and was succeeded by General Hilmi Özkök.

Before militant islamist a******s took over and almost destroyed Turkey shortly after the good general retired.

I am wondering how Russia will react to all of this.

They were no fans of Erdogan, and this represents a strategic opportunity to make inroads with the military in Turkey.

Thus—control of the Dardanelles, the Sea of Marmara, and the Bosphorus?

They already have control of Crimea.

Also, they are defending Assad in Syria, so Assad will be beholden to Russia for his survival.

Stay tuned......

The wild talk here is much more in the 12-year-old boy fantasist vein than in the serious mode of a Constitutionalism. The American Right is becoming more and more untethered from true conservatism.
