For the first time, researchers have found a person in the United States carrying bacteria resistant to antibiotics of last resort, an alarming development that the top U.S. public health official says could mean "the end of the road" for antibiotics.
The antibiotic-resistant strain was found last month in the urine of a 49-year-old Pennsylvania woman. Defense Department researchers determined that she carried a strain of E. coli resistant to the antibiotic colistin, according to a study published Thursday in Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, a publication of the American Society for Microbiology. The authors wrote that the discovery "heralds the emergence of a truly pan-drug resistant bacteria."

Antibiotics have no effect on viruses.
Actually there’s new anti-biotics all the time. The problem is there’s a functional limit to their strength. We already have ones on the market that are functionally too strong, they kill the good bacteria that make your guts work right and give you various problems, some of which can wind up permanent. Start making them too much stronger they’ll just start killing people outright.

Pursue medical attention for infected wounds, early on, don’t wait several days to see if it will just go away.
Manuka honey and collodial silver have been effective for topical wound treatment that did not respond to traditional antibiotic treatment (look up the application of Manuka honey for persistent bed sore ulcerations and battlefield wounds, for instance).

The damn super bug is an E. Coli strain.
I remember 30 or 40 years back when all the aspiring DR. Frankensteins were just starting out with gene splicing and mettling with DNA.
The government allowed them to only do experiments on E. Coli, because it was such a benign bacteria that it could do no harm.
I also remember thinking, in a few years, it’ll turn into the Andromeda strain, because they really don’t know what they’re doing.
I really hate when this happens.

It would be a Very good idea to keep this Manuka 15+ honey on hand if and when this new Superbug becomes more common.
If it’s antibiotic resistant component jumps and spreads to other bacteria as the DoD, NIH, and CDC fears, things could get bad.

I just read about some MJ extract that kills MRSA, supposedly.
I’ve just had strep twice, two rounds of different antibiotics. Can you tell me the name of that plant? I’m working hard to improve my sucky immune system. Taking Elixa probiotics. I need all the help I can get.
