Why does Trump have to get 1237 but cruz doesn’t?

Well, the painful elimnation that teddy suffered tonight for all the Cruznadian world to feel is he cannot reach 1237 himself.

Cruznadians wanna be like Pharisees about rules: use ‘em to their advantage even if it violates the spirit of those rules.

Yes. He was at 89%.

He spent most of the day in the low 90s.

Trump says Hillary Clinton would make a good president>> i think he said it once. certainly past tense. the word “says” is present tense. I think he says now she is “crooked hillary” no one else is saying it.

I think that’s a new percentage high for Trump here.

Also a new ratio high of 8-to-1. Those are bad odds for eliminaTED.

Whoever is going to be the nominee has to get to 1237. If neither gets there before the convention, it will be decided at the convention. Delegates who are bound to a particular candidate on the first ballot—whether for Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Kasich, et al.—may become unbound on the second ballot, free to vote for whomever they think will be the best nominee to represent the party. That’s how party conventions work. Nothing new or nefarious about it. May the best man win.

Rethink your early thoughts on Ted.

I don’t think he’s who he was trying to sell himself as.

Cruz will not be mathematically eliminated until and unless Trump mathematically locks up 1,237 delegates. That has not happened yet.

OK, Mr. Limbaugh.

Got any more GOPe wisdom for us?

Allow me to rephrase:

Ted Cruz was mathematically eliminated from gaining a majority of delegates going into the convention.

In addition, he was also practically eliminated from any chance at the GOP nomination.

Please be advised that, given this new development, the American People will now turn their attention towards Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, defeating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 general election matchup.

You Cruz fanboys can keep playing with your Common Core math until reality comes crashing in.

I'm sure you'll follow the lead of your boss, Ted Cruz, when he tells you that playtime is over, and it's time to join the grownup's table.

Ted Cruz has lost. He will have been mathematically eliminated after the next Tuesday or two. His only hope was to get the nomination at a contested GOP convention, which would irreparably splinter the party, and guarantee a GOP defeat in November.

Simply put, that's not going to happen. Not even the crooked GOPe is that stupid.

Ted Cruz came in third place tonight, behind even John Kasich. Third. That's an epic fail.

Expect that to be repeated next Tuesday.

Enjoy clinging to your fantasy that Ted Cruz is a viable general election candidate.

The GOPe is a fickle old slut. Don't be surprised when she doesn't give you the happy ending you're hoping for.

Vote Trump

Absurd

Freepers have objected to every damn nominee as far as I can remember

Now that we have a liberal unchristian New York values billionaire with a lead in the delegates count we must all unite behind trump.

No one has hated on conservatives like trump and his supporters have

Freepers invented the term RINO.

trump is the ultimate RINO and we are free as conservatives to criticize and tear him down as much as Romney McCain and bush and a hundred others.

Come and take it!

I have never seen anyone hated with such vile contemp on free republic as Ted Cruz///

If he had a shred of integrity he would have suspended on 15 March after losing 6 out 6 big states. Instead he wants to drag this out to June to get a contested convention where he can steal the nomination.

This is why so many hold him in contempt. The republican voter has spoken and cruz is not who they want. Expect this to get worse as cruzzes scorched earth march to a distant second continues.

“Ted Cruz is a great conservative advocate.”

Ted may advocate for conservative ideals, but when given the chance to actually demonstrate those principles in action, and in real life, he’s failed again and again to live up to his unearned reputation as a ‘consistent conservative’.

You’re enamored of a fraud who doesn’t deserve your allegiance.

And you respect the choice of republican voters?

How about McCain

How about Romney

How about bush

Ted is hated because he is a Christian conservative

So do you think your guy Trump is going to get to 1237 before the convention? If so, then what's the problem? Just be patient for a little while longer, and he'll get there, and everything will be great, fabulous.

But if Trump cannot get to 1237 before the convention, that would show he's not as strong a candidate as you think. Did he get 50% of the vote tonight? If so, that would be his first majority vote in any state. Tonight. Not exactly a powerhouse.

I have never seen a presidential candidate who hates me with such vile contempt as Ted Cruz.

In fact, I'm in not one, but two demographic groups that he despises: Non-Dominionists and Voters.
