Question to Cruz Supporters (Vanity)

An honest question to all Cruz supporters that try to describe Trump as a democrat/liberal. If you believe that Trump really is a democrat, and Cruz can't beat him in the GOP primaries, how in the heck do you expect him to win in the general against a real democrat?

“He’s sure not having too much success with that approach, even in a GOP primary.”

True. 35-40% of GOP voters will swoon to anyone who just shouts, “Wall! Great!”...

And another 35% don’t WANT conservatism.

OTOH, someone who is likely to run just a tiny bit left of Hillary isn’t going to do much to advance conservatism either, and neither is someone who thinks a person who supports a constitutional right to partial-birth abortion would make a great supreme court nominee.

Reasonable question. The issue of Cruz winning will depend on when Kasich and Rubio drop out. The polls have shown Trump >10% lower than Cruz in 1 vs 1 contests.

If Rubio and Kasich drop out after next Tuesday then Cruz can do a lot of damage going forward against Trump.the people who like Trump like Trump but late decides have broken for other candidates.

So the next month will be interesting.

So Cruz is so strong in the primaries that he has to rely on another candidate dropping out in order to win...give me a break.

Circular logic. Trump is in the same position. He can't win with 32%. Someone will have to drop out to put him over 50%.

The so-called crossover votes Trump is getting in open primaries (where democrats can vote in the Republican primary) may or may not still vote for him in the general. Are you OK with trusting democrats to do anything right? I'm not.

“Cruz WILL beat Trump in the primaries. All it takes is for Rubio to suspend his campaign.”

I’m sure you missed the irony in what you just posted.

You just made the OP’s case.

“Cruz could destroy Trump head-to-head. Right now, the not-Trump vote is being split 3 ways”

The Not Cruz vote is even bigger than the Not Trump vote. It’s also being split three ways.

So where’s that leave us?

So.....who won the debate last night?:

HUMP? Oops! I mean CHUMP? Oops, no, I mean TRUMP!?

lyin' TED?

little marco?

TRASHICH with the nervous tick?

Just once in my life before I die I would like to see/hear one political candidate in a debate say to his opponent the following: "You are a no-good, lyin', good-for-nothing, low-down, despicable, son-of-a-( female dog ).....( continual expletives deleted, questions about his ancestry, [ blah-blah-blah ], etc." )

Then he would walk over to the podium of his opponent, punch him in the mouth, break his jaw, knock out a couple of his teeth and render him unconcious! I would be forced to vote for a man who would display such intestinal fortitude!.....Kind of like in the forums of other, foreign countries!

To Trump and Cruz supporters everywhere: Calm down. I am equally enthusiastic about either of them being the nominee! I still contend that it is going to be a Trump/Cruz ticket! ;-)

That 45% deserves to be put in context:

I’ll go with Rush’s analysis.

Ted Cruz was on fire and once again demonstrated that there isn’t anybody with a more commanding presence and knowledge of the issues, and particularly the things that need to be fixed, the directions that need to be changed, the reasons this country’s in trouble.

Remember Rush? They guy you used to like.

One on one against Trump, Cruz wins.
One on one against Hillary, Cruz wins.

I am old enough to remember Clinton running as a conservative democrat.

People can say anything.

The little trumpers absolutely despise me and don’t have a problem with telling me so.

They think I only diss Trump because I’m for Cruz, or a Cruzbot as they so kindly refer to me.

The fact is that, although Cruz is obviously the better candidate in ways too numerous to mention here, that is not my main goal.

My main goal is keeping the presidency from Hillary Clinton or the socialist if it goes that way.

Trumpers here refuse to believe or acknowledge the truth.

Trump cannot win the general.

If you succeed in pushing your guy over the finish line, you are dooming America.

Au contraire, it is a usage of logic.

Perhaps you don't recognize using logic in the form of a question as using logic, but it most certainly is. Just a more subtle version of injecting logic into a conversation. It requires the person who answers to use logic to formulate their answer to the question. It required logic to formulate the questions where honest logical answers cannot be deployed. Not until the second place person can overtake the frontrunner. Until that point they are just wishful thinking.

Would you kindly rephrase your question?

It doesn’t make sense as presently stated.

You need 50+. He’s not there yet, He may make it, he may not, I hope he does but right now there is some doubt, He should be out polling his competition against The Felon and he’s not. You’re not worried but I am.

Because Trump is pretending to be a Republican and has fooled a lot of people (not nearly a majority of Republicans), but enough to get him this far. When the fall comes, Clinton will have all the videotape she needs to clobber Trump with his prior statements, like his support for her, his support for illegal aliens in 2013, his exploitation of and hiring of illegals, his use of H-1B visas, his flip flops and his essential dishonesty.

Trump has benefited from his free media coverage and his celebrity. The media will not be helping him in the fall like they have inn the primaries.

Trump has the highest unfavorable ratings of any candidate in recorded history already. He won’t win. Even Democrats hold Cruz in higher esteem than Trump.

“The majority of Republicans have been rejecting Trump”

An even greater number of Republicans have been rejecting Cruz. Perhaps he should drop out so we can all unite behind the candidate who’s clearly winning.

Trump is not a liberal, conservative, Democrat or Republican he is a confidence man.

From the Debate:

“TRUMP: Jake, I have to say — honestly, it’s just the opposite. What will happen if they don’t behave, we will put on a tax of some amount, and it could be a large amount, and we will start building those factories and those plants. Instead of in China, we’ll build them here. And people will buy products from here, rather than buying it through China where we’re being ripped off. And we have a $505 billion trade deficit right now.”

Mr. Trump, Do you have magic beans that will cause corporations to build here? The government (”we”) doesn’t build plants for private companies. What Trump said is gibberish and Trumpsters will think that it is so brilliant.

Now the speech of Kevin Williamson is being deleted from this group. What’s wrong too intellectual for y’all?

This is what I have seen, every poll showing Cruz vs. Trump, Cruz wins.

Also Trump seems close to 35% as his ceiling. I know he gets more in some states, fewer votes in others, but to me that seems like his ceiling.

Secondly look at the two candidates who will drop out.

Rubio - seems very aligned with Cruz except on immigration. I would bet the huge majority would go to Cruz. That is what the polls say.

Kasich - He is different. he is actually the consummate liberal country club republican. His supporters would be sick thinking of voting for either Trump or Cruz. My take here is they don't vote, or vote more for Cruz as they are horrified by Trumps antics.

This is why the Cruz campaign starts in earnest next Wednesday. Mano y mano.

I will say if Cruz dropped out the majority of his supporters would go to Trump.
