A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.
This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldnt keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruzs and Senator Marco Rubios (R-FL) campaigns.
The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubios team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

“...his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubios team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race.”
IF, IF, IF this report is true (and I have my doubts), then Cruz could have gotten the same deal with Trump. Could have - but not after his performance in the last couple of weeks.
Cruz has (even without this report) really become a big disappointment to me. He has revealed himself to be a very big establishment candidate, rather than the maverick that he bills himself as.
There’s academic and legal smarts, which he obviously excels at.
But that’s doesn’t always result in pragmatic smarts.
One of my former work mates used to call it “1000 horsepower without a driveshaft”
“...said a Carson operative”
If he would recuse himself from trade and immigration cases, he could do little harm and maybe a lot of good on SCOTUS.
Few Cruz supporters will care who he endorses. They’ll go to their #2. I prefer Cruz but approve of Trump; Cruz endorsing Rubio doesn’t change my mind.
No argument, I just see a guy who wants to be POTUS as completely different personality and desire from one who wants to be on the SC.
“In exchange for Cruz exciting the race” Wonder if he meant EXITING the race instead of EXCITING the Race.....???
Can’t see ANYTHING EXCITING about Cruz. Just more sleaze from someone who needs a dictionary.
On the leading edge of Super Tuesday, this looks like a dirty trick, and/or a click-bait-generator. Cruz drop? I’ll believe it when I see it.
“For what it’s worth.”
That would be not much. Rumor mongering and anonymous sources. Sounds like great fodder for DU or Page 6.
Yes it will. We have a good sized contingent here that openly proclaims they will vote for the bisexual cabana boy over Trump.
If Cruz drops out they go for the younger Yeb! robot.
The GOPe is struggling to find the “best” guy to deliver the concession speech when Hillary wins, and Trump won’t line up for that position. Bush would have been the one to do this, and he’s gone.
Dirty tricks from Trump. He should apologize.
LOL!!......................
Well it does appear the chances of seeing the Calgary Stampeders receive their next Grey Cup at the WH is diminished.
Yep. Cruz voters go no where if he drops. Might help carson get double digits.
Fours years of power that is stymied by Congress or a lifetime of unbridled power?
Stone is a gem, but how would Stone know the content of a conversation between two wives?
NSA or CIA???
no, of course not. trump’s allowed to lie, dissemble, fabricate, etc., etc. Trump’s a fraud, dontcha know.
