Trump plays the victim card against Hispanic judge

Donald Trump said today he may ask the federal judge overseeing an upcoming civil fraud trial involving the now defunct Trump University to recuse himself because he is Hispanic and is therefore biased against him due to his plan to build a wall to keep out immigrants from Mexico.

Trump first raised the idea of filing a motion to recuse U.S. Judge Gonzalo Curiel during a campaign rally on Saturday in which, without mentioning him by name, the Republican candidate said the judge overseeing his case has shown “tremendous hostility” to him. “He’s Hispanic, which is fine,” Trump said.

“Why would you need to ask for a recusal and what does his ethnicity have to do with it?” moderator Chuck Todd asked Trump during an appearance on “Meet the Press” Sunday morning. “Because I think he’s been very, very unfair with us,” Trump replied. “ I think the judge has been extremely unfair. This is a case that many, many, many people said should have been thrown out on summary judgment. We have 98 percent approval. We have an A from the Better Business Bureau. “

“And you think it’s because he is Hispanic?” Todd asked. Trump’s reply: “Well because of the wall, and because of everything that’s going with Mexico and all of that, I think it’s frankly – look, this is a judge who has treated me very, very unfairly. This is a case that should have been thrown out a long time ago in the opinion of many great lawyers.”

Curiel, who was born in East Chicago, Ind., and graduated from Indiana University and Indiana University Law School, was nominated to the federal bench President Obama in 2011 – and approved by the Senate the next year by voice vote without opposition.

Gonzalo P. Curiel

On November 10, 2011, President Obama nominated Curiel to serve as a judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of California.

Gonzalo P. Curiel is a Democrat.

Also, they just scrubbed is wikipedia page. Literally just scrubbed his page where it noted that he was a Democrat. LOL

I respectfully disagree; and so does Jeff Sessions, joining the likes of Joe Arpaio et al in endorsing Trump.
I guess that’s why they call it politics.
I think he will revitalize our prospects for saving America from the left. I’d have rather had Cruz, but he is unelectable because he shares with me the kind of Biblical Christianity which believes literally in judgment of the unbeliever, and in Armageddon. I wish such a person could be elected President; but we are roundly despised by an overwhelming majority in this country.
I don’t think that solid 65% you reference will stay opposed when he is all that remains standing between us and hillary. I can’t imagine that.

If Trump can beat Hillary more power to him. From all the demographic patterns I have been looking at, and especially of Trump’s high negatives, especially among women, and with 80% Hispanics positively opposed to him, I doubt he could. Polls show Cruz and Rubio beating Hillary, and this is what counts.

Just so I understand.

People who say Trump is a Liberal use Liberal’s and Liberal tactics to attack Trump, the Liberal that all the Liberals hate.

Got it.

Disclaimer: Recently disenfranchised Cruz Supporter who is sick of this FR Range War between the Cruzers and the Trumpsters who just wants this Primary Season to get over with so WE can support the Republican Nominee against the eventual DemoncRat Nominee. Well, a guy can dream.
