What Cruz’s campaign staff did to Ben Carson was worthy of the clintons.

I’ve been going elsewhere for my news about the election.

Whatever happened to “Thou shalt not speak ill of any Republican.”?

Everyone has a right to support whichever candidate they want but the nastiness just reeks.

Trumpbots mimic their leader. And so they mindlessly trash Cruz.

It’s really that simple.

My suspicion is that many Trump people are mostly secular in their world views, and that Cruz is just too “Christian” for them. Seems to really bother them.

"Just a little confused."

I hear ya'.
Have learned to stay away from this debate on FR until the smoke clears - dissenting opinions on certain topics encourage pile-ons.

What are some examples of such derision, if you could be specific? I have seen quite a lot of name-calling by Cruz supporters but I seem to have missed corresponding name-calling against Cruz supporters.

Easy...when the poll numbers started to tank, Trump went first after Carson, then Cruz, then Rubio all of whom are more appealing of the remaining candidates than the carnival barker. Since Trump or his supporters can't win on substance, they have decided to run a campaign of insults. Some aren't bright enough to see through the slander and pander for what it is...Hopey changey baloney.

The Trum-pets believe every word Trump says, so when he says Cruz is not a natural born citizen and Cruz is a liar, the debate is over.

Because the trumpsters are about to nominate a “Jesse Ventura” candidate. Ted Cruz is his only threat. They see the New York Progressive Liberal as good thing. This used to be a conservative site but not anymore.

I guess winning is more important than principles or any kind of concept of conservatism. Smear those who dare criticize The Donald at all costs.

It is how Trump runs his campaign, so it is how his supporters do their supporting.

There are people here who are still attacking Scott Walker.

When Rush Limbaugh says anything with an anti-Trump slant (even though he is pretty neutral), Rush has suddenly jumped the shark.

Mark Levin might as well be Nancy Pelosi.

And the big one: the Pope is no longer Catholic.

OTOH, Ann Coulter is back in good graces.

There’s a common belief amongst Trump supporters, despite any evidence (and trust me, I’ve asked for some), that Cruz supporters “started it” by attacking Trump supporters.

The reality is that the real animosity started the day Cruz said something about Trump’s New York values and how Cruz had different values. That’s when the knives came out.

After that, Trump shot back that Cruz was “nasty,” a term which his supporters have repeated endlessly, along with how he’s a “liar,” another term that Trump loves (probably because he is one).

Now, we have some of these so-called “conservatives” actively hoping and wishing that Cruz will lose his Senate seat in 2018, which would be just great for the RINOs in the Senate.

So what it really comes down to is not politics - it’s entertainment. Most of these people aren’t voting for a candidate, they’re rooting for a football team.

“Is Cruz getting slammed merely because he is running against Trump?”

Lets clear this up. In case you have been out of the country for the last few weeks Ted Cruz has been caught up in a dirty trix campaign in the primaries that started in Iowa and has run through SC. As his campaign loses steam he has now resorted to just outright lying about other candidates most notably Trump. He sounds shrill and desperate. Not a winning combo for President.

Last night after the debate Cruz said he would support Rubio over Trump so I guess he was agains’t amnesty before he was for it. He’s a flawed candidate and most people on FR have recognized it.

Didn’t you hear that Ted Cruz is the biggest liar in the planet in the worst person in the world?

I dont post my support because of post number 3. This person attacked Cruz supporters with out any Cruz supporters posting. Claiming they were emotional. Reading this post shows who is emotional

Just not worth my time to refute emotional people like that.

I’m a Trump supporter who would vote for Cruz if he got the nod. What I have found most is that most Trump supporters (not all, but most) actually do support Cruz. In fact, we would have liked to see Trump/Cruz 2016, and Cruz/Carson/Rubio/etc. 2024. However, as has been previously mentioned upthread, once Cruz realized Trump wasn’t going anywhere, he came out swinging. I believe Trump is correct to respond. It really is that simple. Cruz is losing. Rubio is losing, and now they are just getting desperate.

...would you support Cruz?

Why would I support someone who isn't eligible for the office for which he's running?
