I've come to this site every day since Ted Cruz became a national political figure. Perhaps I'm just getting old with a failing memory but I can't recall any derogatory posts about Cruz until Donald Trump began his ad hominem attacks on him. I don't remember Freepers attacking him as he built a record in the senate.
Can someone direct me to the threads and posts by the Freepers who now hate Cruz that were made prior to September of last year?
I am a Cruz or lose kinda girl. Trump is a human gumball machine. Look for anything to come out of Trump’s mouth. I will hold my nose and vote for Trump but I prefer Cruz.
TPA and the Corker bit did it for me. It is the JOB of Senators to know about and read things and propose bills and amendments. Anyone who says different is blowing smoke.
As plenty of others have said, most Trump supporters around here will vote for Cruz in the general if he wins, myself included. You guys are the ones who keep declaring that you’re going to self-immolate if Ted doesn’t get the nomination.
Grow the hell up.
Exactly. The “if you don’t vote for Cruz you’re not a conservative” bullying is pathetic and needs to stop.
Jim Thompson asked everybody to lighten up, and the next day the CruzPostBots doubled down on the vileness.
Rush has changed. I find his support of Rubio outrageous. He wonââ¬â¢t talk about H-1B Visas. He rarely talks about open borders.
Yes he has. I’ve been a regular listener since before W was elected, and he’s different. He’ll say the same thing 20 times in a segment. He says marco-gang-of-8-rubio never worked with barkie. HA!
I haven’t given up on Rush, but he needs to get his dirt out of boss man’s hole.
He used Carson's words, from Carson's book, in at least a dozen speeches, and on TV interviews.
I don’t know, but they need to go to DU now that they are backing partial birth abortion, single payer, the DREAM Act, Corporate Welfare, and ‘Bush lied, Kids died.’ They all are one reality TV show from backing Bernie Sanders.
...as was done with Clinton and Carter before Obama.
TPA s not great, but from Nixon to W, it has been here.
I stand by my statement that to throw this out there now is just campaign rhetoric.
The way I heard it explained was that the TPA puts all of the rules in place BEFOREHAND, so the President can negotiate with another country, and the other country knows that whatever the President sets forth will be agreed upon by Congress - because Congress has already agreed to it. Makes the negoiations smoother, and the other country willing to deal with us.
Otherwise it would be like the used car salesman.
“Okay, I might be able to do that, let me check with the manager.” And 30 minutes later (or 30 days later with the President) the salesman comes back with “Well, I can’t go that low, but I can bring it down to xxxx and I’ll throw in some floor mats.”
AGAIN, JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: DUE TO HIS 500% H-1B VISA INCREASE POSITION, I AND OTHERS ON THE H-1B VISA PING HAD MAJOR ISSUES WITH CRUZ BEFORE TRUMP CAME ON BOARD. Others have said same thing. Cruz was not OK before Trump entered the race.
Good point. But it wasnât just a position. Cruz wrote the flipping U. S. Senate bill to do it and campaigned for it for TWO YEARS until Trump forced him to withdraw the idea.
~and my spouse says sometimes I don’t take criticism well LOL
There are some that aren't just doing it out of dedication, if you know what I mean.
There's a couple of them on the Trump side, too.
Agreed.
Plus after I donated several times to Cruz they abused my information. Early on I disliked that fact that they hounded me with phone solicitations for money - don't even get me started on the ridiculous drama-begging emails. Here's the thing: I NEVER gave them my cell phone information, but they started calling my cell anyway, asking for money.
I asked them how they got that number and they were vague -- so I blocked Cruz campaign begging calls from multiple numbers.
It was about that time that I read about their creepy data mining operations.
NEVER again will I give that guy the time of day.
Exactly.
I was looking for that post by the big guy that others kept referencing.
Scrolling through Jims comments I found where he had to take a few FReepers to the woodshed.
2 time outs and one confirmed kill. All three Trump haters who just couldn’t contain their hate for those who don’t hate Trump like they do.

I hate to even say this because it’s kind of tinfoil-hat in nature, but I have noticed that the Cruz spamming and trolling tends to happen from the 9am-5pm hours.
In the evening, things tend to balance out more.
I’m just saying.
You're repeating yourself, much like Rubio. I'm not talking about Trump and Cruz, I'm talking about what Trump has said in his very own words, on EVERY subject, each 15 FRIGGIN’ DIFFERENT WAYS. He's a master of obfuscation. If you say everything about anything, then nobody can pin you down. Its his lame Art of the Deal concept. He's all about winning, at ANY cost. But perhaps you should just repeat yourself again about Trump using Carson's words? I kind of expect that.
Just for fun, let me lay this out:
As of 2/19/16 I support the candidates in the following order. I have the right to change my mind at any moment ( just like these candidates do).
1. Cruz
2. Trump
3. Carson
4. Rubio
5. Kasich
6. Bush
7. Clinton
8.Sanders
I will pledge, right here, on FR that I will vote for 1 through 6 over 7 and 8.
I like 1 best, 6 the least of my choices but I will not vote for 7 and 8.
Does anyone really think typing tRump in support of Cruz makes Cruz look good?
The biggest effective detractors from Cruz of late have been his own supporters here on FR - not all - but I think we all know the ones I'm talking about.
I like Cruz, think Trump would be more effective, but Cruz has sunk a level in my eyes. Trump is also testing me, but I always knew he would.
Oh, and as you say, it was Trump that brought immigration to the forefront and forced Cruz to withdraw the frightening expansion of H-1B Visas by 500%.
I remember back in early 2015, people could not believe that Cruz, such a “strong” conservative, would support such a move...but the facts were backed up by various tech magazines, etc.
