Salem Radio Network, whose parent Salem Media Group also owns Hot Air, has had perhaps the most stable national network line-up in the business â but big changes are now afoot. My friend and mentor Hugh Hewitt, who has had his national profile skyrocket during the 2016 Republican presidential primary cycle, will move from his long-ensconced position on afternoon/evening drive to mornings, giving Hugh a head start on the news cycle. Bill Bennett, who had served in two Cabinet-level positions in the Ronald Reagan administration, will move into a âhost emeritusâ position focusing on special interviews and in-depth analysis.

No Thanks
Hugh Hewitt and Bill Bennett.
Repeat after me, everyone:
SQUISH!
I heard this GOPe guy recommending delegates get rooms for more than a week because of a coming brokered convention.
If someone removes the winner for a GOPe shill, then there goes what little there was left of the Republican Party IMO.
To be fair, I believe Hugh Hewitt has predicted brokered conventions in past cycles. Maybe it’s wishful thinking by a political junkie. The conventions are way too boring anymore. I’m leaning Trump, but would still relish an old fashioned duke em out convention instead of the scripted commercials that they’ve become
The Soul and Wit of the George Herbert Walker Bush Administration.
Republicans have superdelegates, too.
âFor Republicans, there are generally 3 unpledged delegates in each state, consisting of the state chairman and two RNC committee members.
âA common criticism is that unpledged delegates could potentially swing the results to nominate a candidate that did not receive the majority of votes during the primaries.â
I wonder how many pledged delegates Trump will have to have before the superdelegates are unable to decide the outcome.
‘At-thar are funny!
BOO! I like Bill Bennett. He has been very good on the muslim invasion in Europe. Hugh Hewitt can suck an egg!
Because I have come to despise the GOPe due to all their betrayals I do not trust them to hold these votes. This is the establishment finding desperate ways to hold on to their power and access to personal wealth building for themselves.
That system needs to go.
Maybe it is time the GOP ends if it can’t fuction for its voters anymore.
Gallagher's Friday time with Chris Wallace is horrific.
Mark Davis has an annoying habit of saying the same thing twice when he thinks he has a cogent point to make.
Bennett lost any passion he had before he went to work for Reagan.
Bill Bennett was the hypocrite who wrote The Book of Virtues, which was about what the title implies, while he had an addiction to gambling. He lied about it before ultimately admitting to being a gambler. Admire him at your own risk.
His recent continual harping about the evils of marijuana and the benefits of Common Core have become annoying lately: I've been tuning out often lately because of it.
“No Thanks”
Ditto to that.
Hewitt is to the left of most here, but he is a great interviewer and I enjoy his guests. Nothing wrong with broadening one’s perspective.
Bennett is a good interviewer, and his show can be interesting when he has guests like Michael Rubin, Bing West and Mike Ledeen. But it often gets boring when he has guests who discuss his favorite topics, education and drug control. Or even worse, when he lets random callers get on the air. That’s when I usually change stations.
Thank you. I know all about that. I don’t care about it. He was right on the end of Europe, as I consider it.
Hewitt is just in it for the money and the limelight.
Trump will appoint Hewitt as ambassador to Dirkastan, since Hugh is such an expert on the country. Hewitt personally knows the Health Minister.
