A statue showing a young girl holding up what appears to be a laptop -- complete with USB ports -- has sparked a frenzy among conspiracy theorists.
The statue, 'Grave Naiskos of an Enthroned Woman with an Attendant' is in The J. Paul Getty Museum in Malibu, California.
'I am not saying that this is depicting an ancient laptop computer,' said YouTuber StillSpeakingOut.
'But when I look at the sculpture I can't help but think about the Oracle of Delphi, which was supposed to allow the priests to connect with the gods to retrieve advanced information and various aspects.'
In the gallery's description, the object is described as a 'shallow chest' -- but conspiracy theorists are having none of that.
StillSpeakingOut says it, 'depicts an astonishing object which bears a striking resemblance with a modern laptop or some hand-held device.'
The strange image is just one of many seemingly anachronistic objects picked out by conspiracy theorists -- below is a moment in a Charlie Chaplin film where someone appears to be using a mobile phone.

Any day now.
I’d guess it’s a polished metal mirror with protective cover based on the way the woman on the throne is admiring herself.

When I first saw that vid I too thought, Dang!

Of course it’s a laptop. But those aren’t USB ports. They didn’t have USB ports in ancient Greece, come on, people...
Someone drank a lot of ouzo to come up with this.
That’s just proof that Greek culture was brought to us by the letter “L”.
A folding looking glass, somewhat like a very large rouge compact, is more like it. It would be available technology for the times, and it would be of a form similar to this.
A silver plate could easily function as a mirror. And calling it a “shallow chest” would rationalize its use as a container for facial enhancements, like some form of mascara or skin colorants.
Doubt if it was cigars, though.
Woman being presented her jewelry.
But if you posit that Jesus Christ rose from the dead in order to give believers eternal life, people lose their minds........
