Climate Change Will Not Be Dangerous for a Long Time
Scientific American ^ | November 27, 2015 | Matt Ridley

Posted on 12/02/2015 2:54:30 PM PST by sparklite2

The theory of dangerous climate change is based not just on carbon dioxide warming but on positive and negative feedback effects from water vapor and phenomena such as clouds and airborne aerosols from coal burning. Doubling carbon dioxide levels, alone, should produce just over 1 degree C of warming. These feedback effects have been poorly estimated.

The last IPCC report also included a table debunking many worries about "tipping points" to abrupt climate change. For example, it says a sudden methane release from the ocean, or a slowdown of the Gulf Stream, are "very unlikely" and that a collapse of the West Antarctic or Greenland ice sheets during this century is "exceptionally unlikely."

If sensitivity is low and climate change continues at the same rate as it has over the past 50 years, then dangerous warming-usually defined as starting at 2 degrees C above preindustrial levels-is about a century away. So we do not need to rush into subsidizing inefficient and land-hungry technologies, such as wind and solar or risk depriving poor people access to the beneficial effects of cheap electricity via fossil fuels.

Earth heading for 'mini ice age' in just 15 years, scientists say
UPI ^ | Updated July 11, 2015 | Doug G. Ware

Solar scientists predict that the Earth will enter a "mini ice age" around 2030 due to decreased activity by the sun, which will bring with it frigid cold winters. The last time the Earth experienced a similar situation occurred between 1645 and 1715.

But I thought sea levels were rising now, and all the ice was melting, drowning the polar bears and causing Syrians to flood into Europe.

“Climate Change Will Not Be Dangerous for a Long Time”

Perhaps not, but liberals are dangerous now.

Let’s all avoid watching the big environmental BS being simulcast on all the discovery channel branches at 9 tonight. More BS from the troubled brows of the left.

[[carbon dioxide warming]]

Yes folks, because 0.0036% of our atmosphere is too dangerous to ignore- we MUST get that number down to 0.0035% or we’re all doomed DOOMED I saY!

Yep- that is the % of atmosphere with CO2 in it produced by man- a whopping 0.0036% of the atmosphere

Can some please explain how 0.0036% of our atmosphere can possibly capture enough heat and back radiate it to earth to cause climate change globally?

Can someone also explain how CO2 can possibly be responsible for climate change when it is a fact that temperatures ALWAYS rise first, and CO2 rises 800 years later?

And can someone please explain how CO2 can be the cause of climate change when the FACT is that CO2 amount has been steadily rising for 20 years but temperatures have remained flat for those 20 years?

When people who can’t predict the weather 2 days in advance try to sell global warming, their credibility is nil.

If the sea levels were to increased 75 feet or so I would have beachfront property. I would gladly let the polar bears winter here....as long as they were those cool Coca Cola bears.

That is exactly the reason those swindlers are counting on. Long after the huge sum of money they got ‘disappear’.

Do taxpayers ever get an actual accounting of how the two Obama Stash was/were spent? I don’t think so.

Huge amount of $$$$ just unaccounted for. But somebody (bodies) quietly got super super rich.

I was a little (pleasantly) surprised to see this article published by SciAm.

Anthropogenic global warming is simply nonsense. Climate change is always occurring. Next up ice age if planetary history is any indicator. And soon. Asteroid or comet strikes can skew events. That is all.

Exactly. Climatechange liars are discriminating against us inlanders- they just don’t want us to have beach front property- I demand the government stop fighting global warming now because it’s discrimination- plain and simple!
