Figured that.
I like my operating system. No bloatware, no viruses, free apps. ;)

Yep!.....By the time Windows 7 is obsolete it’ll be time to get a new computer anyway.....have used this one 5 years now and still going strong. However I expect there will be an adjustment since am using Vista....

Why? I’ve held off updating til they got the bugs out... Why do you wish you had stayed with 7?

I don't get the reasoning behind number 5, other than some writer's personal preference.
I have Win 10 and there is still NFW I'd ever use Google for anything whatsoever.

I have to admit it, I really like(d) Windows 10 but went back to Windows 8.1 even after writing many positive Windows 10 comments here on FR.
For me it came down to a few basic things. First, I do NOT like having a built in "advertising id" on my PC even though I can turn that off, and second I really didn't like the nagging sliders that kept showing up even after I configured Windows 10 to stop leaking data.
I'm not a noob, I've been an I.T. Professional since 1985. I think Windows 10 from a speed, efficient use of resources and stability perspective is an *excellent* O/S. There's much to like about it.
I just do not like Microsoft turning my desktop into their own advertising platform and monetizing the hell out of me/attempting to monetize the hell out of me.
I've gone back to Windows 8.1 with Classic Shell for my basic work/productivity and my amateur radio software needs. For everything else I use Linux and I'm happy that way.

Or are you attempting to insinuate that I receive some manner of compensation for directing others to such a site? He didn't say any such thing, nor imply such. Since you brought it up though, do you?

16. Don't click on this link if you hate clickbait. If you really hate clickbait, install Ghostery and turn off the umpteen trackers that website has on it too.
Very annoying!

Here I go ———
I liked the visual set-up of 7.
Minimizing a page is almost impossible and the directions to minimize a page was made for techies,
The email page does not automatically trash Spam.
Bold print? The place where you click on ‘bold’ doesn’t work.
I could go on and on with the little things I REALLY dislike about 10. I had no complaints with 7 and even tho I am not very computer literate, I had no problems with 7.

let me add another——
I had a note pad on 7. There is a ‘one’note’ on 10, and no way to print anything out! No icon, no anyplace to print.

At 12:05 this afternoon (midday, basically) I had a popup regarding free 10 upgrade, and I figured it's been out long enough that the bricking problems I'd heard about from friends were wrung out enough to give it a try. It downloaded the 2.6 gb upgrade (wireless didn't hiccup, I'm very relieved), then did something called preparing to upgrade, then finally, around 2 pm, it asked me if I wanted to go ahead, I clicked yeah, there was one more preparation to do something that lasted a few minutes, then it did a restart, counting up to 100% of whatever, then restarted, screen on the laptop was dark for a few minutes, then a wagon wheel progress thing appeared, and it started back up to 100% again. I've been downstairs a while now, plan to go check on it in a few minutes. My guess is, it's done, because it was hooked to the TV, and when the screen saver kicks in, the TV senses loss of signal and shuts down.
BTW, right now I'm using my usual machine, a mid- to late-1990s PowerMac 7600 (upgraded vid and processor, three monitors, Microsoft 5000 wireless mouse, USB Mac keyboard, ADB keyboard for keying before USB drivers load during boot), running classic Mac OS 9.2.2.

I have loaded Win10 on 5 computers now. 4 of them had no problems, one had a slight problem that the 1511 fixed.
My two older laptops (lenovo 32 bit and a acer 64 bit computers) have become much more fast and are much more fun to play with.
The Desktop and my new computers both seem to love it. The desktop did have an issue but, like I said, the 1511 update fixed it.
The last, my wife’s 2 in 1, did ok, but, the keyboard died and it’s just a “1” now. Does fine with the Win10, but, it can’t make the broken hardware work.
All in all, a positive experience for me all the way round.
Those who choose not to go up are missing out on a good product.
Likes: Seems to be very stable.
dislikes: weird tile thing on the start screen. I usually just click straight to the desktop.

Nothing wrong with getting a new computer. JUst don’t get rid of the old.
My 10 year old Lenovo works fine with windows 10.
I still have a W98 computer, and a W95 and XP harddisk running around with a computer I can plug them into and get info from.
You never know when you will need them to run something.
