Disney CEO Robert Iger already has said they are seriously considering offering WatchESPN as a standalone service. It'll probably be priced about the same as the CBS All Access service. Watch for ESPN to announce this within the next 18-24 months.

There are multiple reasons for this, but ESPN / Disney's in your face leftist preaching is no doubt among them. This represents a loss of about 42 million dollars a month....500 mill a year. It also represents lower advertising rates marginally as well. And it's showing no signs of slowing.

When sports goes pay per view, the cable goes out the window. Besides not being interested in anything being offered, I resent paying out the nose for cable TV, then being subjected to 20+ minutes of advertising for a 60 minute show.
