The entire cable channel industry is on the decline. We cut all TV channels and only watch what we want on Netflix and Hulu over the Internet.

I FINALLY cut the cable!! Cox made the switch, so TVs had to have digital boxes (free for two years, monthly per TV cost after that). Cox doesn't deal well with complexity, and I just couldn't see attaching more stuff to my TV.

So, it's what I can get by antenna....ABC and CBS, plus some of the minor stations that show old TV shows. Read more. Got some of those "Great Courses" on sale. Do more puzzles.

Quality of life has improved. The money I'm saving each month will pay for going to one movie a week, two hardcover books, two museum admissions, or a course or one year of a quality TV show on sale. etc

TV is too violent, too preachy about new cultural and social PC stuff, there are too many commercials, and with all the networks writing talent is spread too thin.
