"Half a million people are dead who should not be dead," Angus Deaton, the 2015 Nobel laureate in economics told my Post colleagues Lenny Bernstein and Joel Achenbach.
Deaton, an economics professor at Princeton, was talking about the stunning finding that he and his wife, Anne Case, made while analyzing U.S. death data from the past few decades. The researchers found that the mortality rate for white men and women ages 45 to 54 with less than a college education took a sharp turn upward in 1999 - a disconcerting reversal that has been virtually unheard of in advanced countries.
To put that number into perspective, Deaton estimates that a half-million deaths is "about 40 times the Ebola stats." He added, "You're getting up there with HIV-AIDS."
The couple's study, which was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences this week, offered a number of possible reasons that this might be happening. And since its publication, other experts have weighed in on other trends that might explain this phenomenon. Below is a look at five of their theories. Many of them have to do more with psychological distress than traditional causes of death such as heart disease or lung cancer.

When people die, it’s usually their fault.
And many millions more who should be dead are not dead.
The most likely reason is despair. Whites have taken a beating in the last thirty years in terms of employment.
Yep, being continually pissed off is rough on a body.
Let God, Let go, and outlive the b@st@rds.
Thank God I just turned 55. Now I am good into my 90s.
My daughter is 25. She was at an event the other day where a 28 year old had a stroke.
I’d say that’s a little unusual....
I’m 46 and white. In May, I had an aortic dissection (look it up) and, during the 8-hour surgery to fix me, had a massive stroke. I was completely out until late June, and I’m still recovering, though my doctors are all stunned at how well I am.
The point is, I know that my days are numbered. I probably don’t have five years left, and 10 years would be a completely unexpected miracle.
This doesn’t bother me even a little, even though I do get a bit panicky at the first chest pain. I figure I’ve seen enough of the earth and fulfilled my biological function by leaving behind two wonderful daughters. I’ve always thought longevity was incredibly overrated and I guess now I’ve put my money where my mouth is.
How about the 60 million American babies...human beings...who are dead who shouldn’t be.
Perhaps this is part of God’s judgement for Abortion?
Whether this is part of that or not, one day, I am convinced there will be dire consequences for 60 million innocent dead babies who have been literally ripped asunder in their mother’s womb.

Discrimination
There is an interesting article in the NY Times with details:
You will note in the graph that while the death rate for those aged 52 by 36.4%, and the death rate for those aged 54 increased by 17.4%, the death rate for those aged 53 DECLINED by 18.4%.
How can this be?
The white working class has been economically destroyed and these are the results.
Whats interesting is that whites even on this board blame themselves.
The political class is delighted. The “undesirables” are liquidating themselves.
Because we can.
Maybe that is close or like the old joke about why do men die before their wives: because they want to!
The death rate is falling for everyone everywhere but middle aged whites.
