I’m 46 and white. In May, I had an aortic dissection (look it up) and, during the 8-hour surgery to fix me, had a massive stroke. I was completely out until late June, and I’m still recovering, though my doctors are all stunned at how well I am.

The point is, I know that my days are numbered. I probably don’t have five years left, and 10 years would be a completely unexpected miracle.

This doesn’t bother me even a little, even though I do get a bit panicky at the first chest pain. I figure I’ve seen enough of the earth and fulfilled my biological function by leaving behind two wonderful daughters. I’ve always thought longevity was incredibly overrated and I guess now I’ve put my money where my mouth is.

Wow you have been through a lot of medical issues at 46. May you have complete recover and many more years. Never understood those claims that if you made it to a certain younger age that you will probably live to a much older age. Like I’m 59 so I’m expected to live to 85 or more? Who knows except God and there are no guarantees.

Remember MLK’s words “...longevity has its place”.

In May, I had an aortic dissection [...]

Wow, sorry to hear that, baltiless!

Anything (previous conditions, lifestyle choices, etc.) in your medical history to explain that - or was it a bolt out of the blue?

Regards,

My heavens,I want to cry,but I do understand your thought process.
I had a cranial bleed which led to a stroke and I never thought why me.I just chugged along and eventually went back to work after a few years off.
I panic at the first sense of dizziness, headache, balance problems or sudden ear pain.
Talking with my nurse co workers ,I was stunned at the number of them who have had strokes.
Stress is a real killer.
Hang in there.I ‘ll think of you at prayer time.

You know, lately I’ve been coming around to this line of thinking..
We are all so hell bent on living a very long time and does that really make sense?
I have my 91 yr old dad living with us most of the year and am watching this brilliant man slowly lose his memory. What do we do when it’s all gone?
This past weekend, we buried a beloved brother-in-law at 76 because he smoked his brains out all his adult life up until his last week on earth and loved every puff so he died happy...
Don’t know if not eating sugar, beef, fat, etc. is really worth it...little grasshopper.

Death of the body is just the beginning of life eternal..Jesus is the Lord of life eternal or death eternal.

Jn.3:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Holy everything!!! I am amazed you survived the dissection. At work those are our worst nightmare ed dx.

May God be with you.
I think you may have more time than you think, though.
You already had your share of bad luck and then some.

500 mgs of mag orotate daily is my personal recommendation to you and do get the orotate, not the others. Amazon has it.
