Republican voters view Donald Trump as their strongest general election candidate, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll that highlights the sharp contrast between the partys voters and its top professionals regarding the billionaire businessmans ultimate political strength.
Seven in 10 Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters say Trump could win in November 2016 if he is nominated, and thats the most who say so of any candidate. By comparison, 6 in 10 say the same for retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who, like Trump, has tapped into the powerful wave of antiestablishment anger defining the early phases of the 2016 contest.
Its the lifelong establishment politicians on both sides that rub me the wrong way, said registered Republican Joe Selig, a 60-year-old carpenter from Vallejo, California. I think Trump is more electable. Hes strong. We need strength these days.

Go Trump.
Wait until someone asks Carson if he would go to a David Duke KKK event to speak to that group.
Isn’t speaking before Al Sharptons group the National Action Network the same thing?
I want to know why Carson put his stamp of approval on Sharpton?
I like what George Will said about this: Trump's latest appeal to voters would seem to be: "Vote for me, because you never know what I might do."
I’m seeing some news on a few sights right now, that Ford is changing their mind regarding the opening of their new plants in Mexico, in response to Trump’s recent statements. Can anybody substantiate that?
That is quite interesting.
Ford would seem to be a leader in that regards, if true.
America badly needs to bring back jobs to America.
Big time.
Yes, it would be very impressive if a candidate who isn’t even President yet, were to be able to cause Ford to change their mind about outsourcing jobs. A commenter on ConservativeTreehoous mentioned it, so I did a search, and it looks like Trump tweeted something about it a few hours ago. It seems like it might just be rumor at the moment, but we’ll see.
Good point.
Also, Trump understands the job market, an area where Carson is lacking.
Your right, except build the wall, kick out the Mexicans, cut taxes, make gun carry nationwide and eliminate Obamacare.
Maybe you should update your talking points.
Pray America wakes
I am generally in favor of the things you have mentioned, above.
One possible exception: When you say, "kick out the Mexicans," I would be opposed to kicking out anyone who is here legally. But the term, "legally," is really the operative word here.
Maybe you should update your talking points.
How so? What do you mean, exactly?
Trump has done a good job of going after Republican opponents. I want to see him going after Hillary.
