A middle school principal in San Francisco has refused to release the results of a school election because of a lack of diversity among the winning candidates.
Everett Middle School principal Lena Van Haren said in an email to parents sent Oct. 14 — four days after the student government election — that the results would be withheld because the winning candidates did not properly reflect the diversity at the school, according to KTVU-TV. Van Haren told the news station that her school’s population is 80 percent students of color and 20 percent white students — statistics the election results did not represent.
“That is concerning to me, because as principal, I want to make sure all voices are heard from all backgrounds,” Van Haren told KTVU.
“We’re not nullifying the election, we’re not canceling the election, and we’re not saying this didn’t count,” Van Haren said, adding that she’s called a meeting of student representatives to see how best to move forward.
According to KTVU, Van Haren said she’s considering adding more positions to the student government in an effort to make it more equal.

When you say “lack of diversity”, just say “too many white kids won”.

Maybe the minorities couldn’t read English and so didn’t vote.

Obviously there was no “walk around” money to pass out so a lot of “voters” did not bother showing up?
Why bother having an election at all? just appoint an appropriate number of blacks/hispanics/asians/gays/towelheads/trannies/L/G/B/T/etc/etc.

Haven’t read the story yet: So, the problem is that the white minority was under-represented? . . . No? . . .
add some token black positions ,but 80% of the students are black and appears they want nothing to do with the elections ,Hmm
If she wants more diversity, she should review the presidential candidate slate. No, not the one with two Latinos, a black, an Indian and a woman. I’m talking about her own party’s presidential candidates.
We need more candidates that signed up for the transgender bathroom.
Today this happens in a middle school. 20 years from now it happens in a national election.
Add to diversity, and shoot the blonde principal. Sage advice from me, the thinker.

Well, it could be that no whites (or Asians) were elected and thus “underrepresented” with their voices “not being heard”.
Whether it’s blacks, whites or others that were non-elected the Principal should not be negating the student voters’ preferences. IMHO
This sets a great example for white kids, who will now always know the deck is stacked.
If BITCH principal installs a non winning candidate, that candidate should refuse to take office.
